Last summer I came to Amorgos Diving Center for diving and ended up doing many dive and the PADI under water photography course. this summer I have already come to Amorgos Diving Center for diving twice and I'll be back in September for more diving with the great people of the diving center!!! Great equipment, friendly staff, excelet trips, great organization. Thank you Dimitris, Nicki, Filip, Leo, Ophelia, Iakovos for the super dives . CU again in September my friends !!!!
This is the second time I dive in Amorgos under the wing of the Amorgos Diving Center. Dimitris, the owner, is a very experienced diver who has built an all-stars team of great professionals who also happen to be awesome people. Props to Nicki, Ophelia, Codey and Iakovos. The center offers every amenity, including Enriched Air Nitrox, and has at its disposal two boats to take you to the dive sites. The sites themselves are several, most within easy access of the bay of Aegiali and well-chosen for fun dives. I've dived in several of them and enjoyed each and every one.Today however, I had the rare privilege of being able to dive at the wreck of "Manina III", a freighter that sunk in the bay of Skinopi, in the island of Kinaros. In order to reach Kinaros, one has to travel north-east from Amorgos, crossing 22 miles of open sea. This morning, after a quick briefing we did just that, riding Dimitris' boat from the port of Aegiali towards the wreck. Although the sea was a bit rough, the journey was very pleasant and we were soon looking at the barren shores of Kinaros. As we approached the bay, we were able to see parts of the wreck extending above the water. One more short briefing later, we donned our equipment and dived in. ...it was magnificent! The Manina III is about 150m long by 20m broad. It is mostly intact, its hull unbroken and sitting pretty at a depth of no more than 28-30m. The propeller is at a depth of about 26m, but parts of the ship are to be found in the shallow depth of 5m.We had a long, leisurely descent along the port side of the ship, swimming from bow to stern, catching awesome views of the hull. We reached the propeller, then started to ascend up the starboard side until we reached the level of the deck. We then proceeded to explore every nook and cranny of the wreck, play with the marine life that has made its home there and take beautiful pictures. I have rarely had the opportunity to enjoy a wreck this much. If you travel to Amorgos and the weather allows, DO NOT MISS THIS DIVE.Throughout the entire dive, both Dimitris and Ophelia (the dive-mistress that accompanied us) were utterly professional. Very attentive, always keeping a close eye on the divers, making sure everyone was comfortable. All in all, this was my second year diving with the Amorgos Diving Center. And if all goes well and I am able to return to the island next year, it will definitely be my third. Highly recommended!
HiI had 3 dives (I'm level 1) with them, all was perfect.Security, instructors, material, all was okSpecial thanks to Nicky and Cody who made me enjoying the amorgos underwater :)Take care
I did three dives with Dimitris while my boyfriend took his Padi Diver course with them. All the team members are extremely professional and very fun and enjoyable people to be around. They also try their best to accommodate requests in terms of schedule, dive sites… despite the fact that August is peak season and they were quite full. They take divers to a few amazing dive spots to visit in the area, particularly a wreck full of ancient amphorae, with great visibility. They bring a little go-pro camera to take video and pictures of the divers which they provide for free after the dive.In summary, a great experience for both experienced and beginner divers.
I have an Open Water Certificate from 2 years ago and my boyfriend had never been diving before. When we explained this to Amorgos Diving Center they were super-accomodative and took us both on a dive together. My boyfriend did a Discovery Dive that i could join. My sister and her boyfriend also came along and snorkled. All the staff was superhelpful and made my boyfriends first dive great! They helped us with everything we needed and made the trip easy and fun. All the staff we met were friendly and flexible.
I visited again Amorgos a few days ago . The divecenter is very well organized . Dimitris is very professional , equipment is very well mentained and MANINA wreck SUPER !!!! . Thank you for this wonderful dive i will be back for the caves.
We did a "Discover Scuba Diving" dive first and decided to follow the "Open Water Course" as well. We were really impressed with the quality of the services offered and the friendly atmosphere that was there.I would strongly recommend this diving school (and the whole experience in general) to anyone that has an interest for the underwater world, or would like his children to discover it.After all, Amorgos is a wonderful island to dive and who better than these guys to show you?
My girlfriend and I dived 2 times with Amorgos diving center in September 2014.It was a fantastic experience, the team is very friendly, helpful and professional. Our dive master made us feel in good hands, completely safe, and totally relaxed. The diving spots were wonderful (caves of Nikouria is magic!).
The most friendliest and nicest diving instructors for our youngsters. They had a really nice and relaxed experience with Ophelia and Leonidas, and we could also participate; boat trip near island of Nikouria. Keep on going scuba divers of Amorgos!
I did my DSD with Amorgos Diving Center and it was perfect. The crew was amazing. Mitsos is the best instructor in the entire planet system. Everyone was extremely helpful. I plan on getting my open water and hopefully advanced with them next year! Again, I highly recommend this shop. They are amazing! As Mitsos says, "Let us get wet."
