Great museum. Be sure the ticket seller knows what they are doing. We purchased all access passes... which should give us all access. We clarified this with the ticket seller who assured us, our tickets included the "movies" and all else- the price is that high because of this.... so off we go,... come time to go the the dynamax theaters and guess what... nope- all access does not include these.... argh... despite the fact that the ticket seller confessed she had indeed told us specifically those were included, management made no offer to comp us or do anything at all for us, just a shoulder shrug and "sorry" what a piece of work.

I really enjoyed the museum. The cost was very affordable. The new exhibit about Albuquerque was really nice. I could have spent more time there. Kids were hungry though.

This is very small art museum with some fairly specific galleries. They do have a piece by Andrew Wyeth that is beautiful. The best part about this museum is the sculpture that surrounds the building (which is truly lovely architecture in and of itself). Add to that walking distance to Old Town Albuquerque as well as the Exploratorium and it's a great day spent in a good company of works.

As a local, it had been many years since I last visited the Albuquerque Museum (of Art and History). It has changed and improved and is a prize the community can be very proud of with an interesting mix of art and history exhibits. I especially liked the public art exhibit, with images and discussions of the 100s of public art all around the city, many being sculptures right in the museum's front yard and many others that I pass driving around. These are fascinating pieces that, if I saw them in Europe, I'd be taking loads of photos. Time to appreciate what we have right here! It was wild seeing some familiar old items in the Rad Gadgets exhibit, and I will get back for the Visualize Albuquerque exhibit. We started our visit with a terrific light lunch at the Slate Street Cafe location within the museum. Next time I'll allow time to check out the unusual offerings in the museum store. With so much interesting stuff to check out, admission a pittance and free on some days, I need to get back much more often.
Within one block of the historical Albuquerque Old Town, this is a great museum. Many different galleries of art, photography, history and a new gallery of "Rad Gadgets". A great place to visit and learn.
