Our first option for a kayaking tour was booked, so we chose horseback riding with Cerro Frias as an alternative half day activity. Overall was a relaxing and beautiful day activity - the ranch from where we started the ride was super cute with some delicious food! The horseback ride itself was pleasant - more scenic than anything as the horses essentially were taught to follow each other in line. Not much in the way of 'riding' per say…but an easy trot up and down the mountain, made for some fun pics! Would recommend for a low key activity!
A fabulous hike, guanacos, foxes, hares, condors, and the Patagonian wind to blow us right off the peak.
Our family did the zip line and it was so much fun! Originally we were scheduled for the 4x4 but the zip line was available and they allowed us to change at the last minute. It was so great and Anna was great with our kids, making them feel comfortable and excited. It was an awesome time! Lunch afterward was also amazing. Sooo much food!We would definitely recommend!
This is a great option if you have half a day and are looking for an activity to do in El Calafate. We choose the zip-lining and it was really fun as you would expect. And both guides were very nice! Views of the mountains and Lago Argentino are fascinating and it is a very peaceful place to be at. Plus, the price was relatively affordable compared to other excursions.
Recently had a group event here. Zip line, horseback riding, 4x4 tour, great meal, wine and service. We all loved it. Great friendly service and staff. I recommend it especially for groups.
I chose the horseback riding excursion for the authentic gaucho experience. Our group was only 3 people which enabled our guide Gabriel to be very attentive and take a lot of photographs us. Horses were well behaved, we rode for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours and enjoyed the mountain views. The Estancia itself was very nice and relaxing. Enjoyed a delicious homemade apple cake when we were done ($20 or $30 pesos). Overall good vale and a great half day activity.
A shuttle will pick you up at your hotel. The views of Lago Argentina and wildlife Cerro Frias are vrry good.I would recommend to a friend, & the price was very reasonable.
We took the half day to cerro frias, the 4by 4 ride was ok and exiting but when we arrived to have la merienda, we were surprised we had it in a hut , we were freezing and cuddle all around a make shift chimney- stove . The hut was open ,with no doors and a tin roof. We stayed there for more than an hour until people began to complain of being cold. Absolutely no bathrooms. The merienda was a piece of fried dough the size of a small napkin , just one per person and half a chocolate drink in a plastic cup.
I had an early evening flight out El Calafate, so I wanted to find a great way to spend my last morning/afternoon in town. The zip line at Cerro Frias was perfect! It was my first time zip-lining (and I don't love heights), but the guides were fabulous and helped calm any nervousness in the group. After two days of mini-trekking and glacier exploration, this was the perfect way to cap off our visit to Patagonia. The people at Cerro Frias were professional and fun, which made it a truly memorable experience.
We did the 4x4 after doing Big Ice the day before and were looking for something to fill the day. It was possibly our favorite day. The hosts were great and took us to a working farm. They cooked us lunch while we were able to take pictures, relax and zip-line. HIGHLY recommend!
