This was our first ocean-view stop on the great ocean road - definitely worth a stop. The lighthouse is awesome, and just a short walk up the hill from the parking lot. Great views, easy location to great some nice photos.
The kids loved the climb up the stair to the top of the lighthouse. A bonus is that they got to learn a bit of history of how ships travelled around Australia and help them stop crashing into the coastline.
This was our first stop on our Great Ocean Road trip. Some spectacular views and interesting historical points.
Went to Split lighthouse today with family, our coast is the most beautiful and stunning in the world. I have been to the top of the lighthouse and it is so worth it and you learn a few things as well, do yourself a favour and take the family you will love it
The lighthouse is worth stopping to see. The views from the site are very pretty as is all the GOR coastline. There is good information about the lighthouse itself and you can book a tour to go inside and up to the top if you are willing to make the climb.
My first stop on our GOR trip, awesome stunning scenery from the viewing platform up there. Great weather too!
The split point lighthouse is a lovely old beacon set on a hill in Airey's Inlet and provides spectacular views of the surrounding coastline. After you have visited the lighthouse the beach close by is a great place to while away an afternoon and it is great as it is protected from the elements in a cove.
We didn't go inside the lighthouse itself, but it was worth walking up along the paths for great views onto the ocean.
It had been awhile since I had been here. The lighthouse is always a great thing to look at but the new boardwalks are so fabulous. the lighthouse was doing tours for the long weekend and plenty of tourists were around. I always enjoy this area with the ocean views, Eaglerock Marine Sanctuary and the ability to walk for miles if you desire.
Go Geocaching! There is a nice little hide with some stunning views of the ocean and lighthouse. There are several viewing platforms that you can get to with the kids. The lower platforms may not be accessible with prams due to the grade and gravel. Well worth the stop.
