This is a big Must-Go! The experience starts with the steep descending road down to the beach (a bit like the road that takes you down to the port in Santorini). The mountains are so high and so imposing that it is overwhelming. The famous local monastery is like a small dot on them, when looked at from the sea. The beach is actually a scattering of many different places: a big rock as you go down with coves left and right, and there is more if you walk further to the right side. An added bonus is that this a clothes-optional place. Two decades ago it was full of nude people. Nowadays, the nudist part has shrank. Still, depending on the day you go naked even at the very front, on the immediate right of the big rock (avoid doing so on the left side, under the small chapel). On the far right beach one can find the nudist core - avoid going there if you do not want to take off some of your swimming attire.
the small chapel above the mini bay is like a ivory jewel on the blue egean there no sand small stones maybe to many people in a too little (but so charming) place in the vicinity other crowdy beaches
The sea has a 'multi-blue' colour combination, the beach is small and secluded and you feel in a natural swimming pool.
Two very small beaches, beautiful rocks to dive, such a beautiful sea.We have gone twice with our 5 y.son, but if the there are winds and your child doesnt know good swimming, then thisnt the best beach for children.
This small beach, closed to the Monestery, is know because of the making of the film "Le grand Bleu", with Jean Reno, the small church, was on the film. That's why you find so many french on this island.
The beach (mostly rocks) are perhaps not the most comfortable but the clean blue (!) ocean is great!!! I can for surerecomend this place!!
So clear and wonderful water... Cristal clear and cold.... Place to jump from the rocks... My kids coudn´t stop...
Visitors of Hozoviotissa Monastery, have the opportunity to come to this nearby beach and cool themselves after climbing up the monastery.Unfortunately it's often crowdwed, but worths a short diving here.
Is very convenient that you can go to this beach and then visit the monastery of Chozoviotissa! You have to walk a little but the view will compensate you!!!!
Agia Anna is a small but very nice beach further down from the monastry. The water is crystal clear and if you swim out you can see the monastry high up in the hill. Nice view! There is a little taverna close to the beach. There are a few buses to the beach, or you can take a taxi.
