If you want an organised beach with music, food and drinks this is your place. It offers no local island style and is similar to any other similar set up in Greece. It offer services like showers, parking and changing rooms and is well organised. If this is what your after you will be satisfied. If you want something away from the busy road and crowds look for something else.
Agios Petros beach is a place for everyone. It has a clean beach with an easy slope to get into the water. This is the better side of the island, as it's more or less protected from stronger current and wind on the other side. There is a nice bar where snacks, sandwiches and drinks can be bought. On the other side of the parking there is a restaurant if you like a complete meal. Nice restaurant too! On some days in the evening there are parties and their DJ is very good. A perfect beach on a fantastic island. No picture available from the beach, but didn't want to leave nothing...therefore two pictures of the island.
This beach is between Gavrio and Batsi, and features a DJ, umbrellas, chairs, and great drinks. It's a bit surreal to be sunning on a beach in Greece and hear 80's American dance music, but it's also very fun. True, there are many MANY more natural and beautiful beaches in Andros, but St. Peter's is a great stop. Crystal clear water, very few waves, and lots of available parking. PLUS, no treacherous mountains to drive down!
When we first arrived at Ag.Petros, sunset....long white sandy beach...although the beach was bustling...there was a unique sence of peace. A great vibe!
We love St Peter's Beach between Gavrio and Batsi. DJ Kohn plays the best mix of music. American, Latin, French and if course, Greek. Drinks are cold and served by attractive and friendly staff. The water is beautiful. Very few rocks, almost no trash and just a few waves (usually after a Ferry Boat passes by). Great for couples, or families. We went with teenagers so the free wifi was a plus!
Agios Petros beach is located 2 klm far from the port of Andros island, Gavrio. The beach is very beautiful, with golden sand and warm shallow waters, that makes it ideal for families with young children. Some taverns can also be found here for a great meal with local delicacies and fresh fish. It has 2 beach bars very well-organized ("Kaliva" and "St.Peters)... you may also find Andros Surf Club which provides both rental and lessons for both windsurfing and SUP stand up paddle sports for ages 7 years of age + up.Right above the beach, on a cliff, you will also admire the cylindrical tower of St. Petros from which the beach was named after. The tower of Agios Petros is a quite well-preserved tower, placed on a hill overlooking the bay of Gavrio. It was probably built in the Hellenistic Era, in the 4th or 3rd century B.C., and is 20m high. A magnificent area of Andros island! Be there.
