Three out of the four of us ended up buying wine and/or having some wine shipped home. They have a nice variety of red wines and whites. Cool looking labels. The barn itself is really nice on the outside as well as the inside. We actually passed this place and turned around-so glad we did!
This winery has a little more of a commercial feel to it than Harbinger, is a bit more expensive but we had a fine time. You get to choose 5 wines to taste out of maybe 14 and it costs 5 dollars. Liked the wine, had to buy 3 bottles to put in my checked in luggage all the way to CA! They also have t shirts chocolates and other items that might be good for souvenirs.
We had a pleasant tasting at Olympic Cellars, enjoyed the Working Girl fun line of wines enough to buy a couple bottles for the rest of our trip.
This winery is located right on Highway 101 so you can't miss it. Nice atmosphere and very pleasant staff who made us feel welcome and answered all our questions. Once again more bottles purchased and another entry in the GPS for future stops. Nice patio area for outside atmosphere and the view is nice.
A welcoming and well stocked winery btwn sequim and port angeles. Wine tasting $5 per person and no contribtuion towards your purchase which we found a bit tacky. Only got 5 wines to taste. The grapes are brought in from Yakima region and the wine is made at the winery on site. The gift shop has a great variety of gift options for all types. Ample parking but watch for the sign as it may be challenging to turn off the hwy 101 when heading into port angeles. we found it easier to access when we were returning to sequim. Worth a visit.
Great setting and atmosphere, very helpful and friendly staff, different wine varieties. Only disappointing aspect was the supposed wine making area tour which was a smallish cellar / wine area behind the tasting area Although he was very friendly the wine makers" knowledge seemed a bit lacking to answers to questions by visitors. Perhaps he should be allowed to concentrate on his wine making and the tour done by a more outgoing person. We all have different talents!!! (Our passion is visiting and trying wines from the many wine growing areas we have visited around the world)..
We like to stop at Olympic Cellars Winery when on the Olympic Peninsula. Wine tasting is available, and they have a really nice gift shop. The award winning wine is very good. The staff is friendly.
Cliff,I am so sorry about the wine and would be happy to replace it if you're still in the U.S. If you've gone back to Chile I can refund the cost of the wine. Was the wine white, red or rose as we produce all under the Working Girl wine brand. Also, if you could let me know where you purchased it. At the winery we taste everyday the wines that we are pouring and that are being sold. If the wine was purchased at another retail store I have not idea what the vintage is or how it was stored which can impact the quality of the wine.Kind regards,Kathy CharltonOwner, Olympic Cellars
Beautiful Barn & the inside is just as beautiful. The wine is excellent , especially the working Girl.
Of the three wineries in the vicinity of Port Angeles we visited last week, this was the only disappointing experience. They seem to trade on their excellent location on the highway, but the red wines we tasted were not very good. Nothing worth shipping home (to California). For better wines, try the other two wineries on the west side.
