Small but well done museam. We came on a field trip with the CMP, so glad we did. Really cool "spy" weapons --- guns as flutes, tire gadge so much more, female traveling case with her own pistols. Swords and guns back Ottoman Empire and earlier. I am huge sword fan, very imprssed and jelous. Very old artifacts from different parts of the world, makes this little museaum worldly and worth going to... A" great historical artifact conservational gem."
I have been planning to visit here for quite some time. I took several of my grandchildren and had a great time. For those interested in our country's history this is a must place to see.The exhibits are layed out so as to appeal to a wide variety of individuals. This museum is definitely worth the price of admission.
If you like guns and military memorabilia and history...you will love this place. The collection here is extensive and unique...
WOW, what a cool museum. You would never think that you would find such a place in a little town like Anniston. The back story of it's founder is fantastic and to see all of the unique items that were collected was really fun. Make sure you stop at the other museum next door as well!
Wow! You need to visit this museum to believe the remarkable weapon collection. Various other history memorabilia were available to view as well. I guess it took our family of 4 about 2 hours to walk thru as we didn't want to miss anything. Very well displayed. If you are in the area this is a definite.
Proving once again that Anniston may very well be one of the best places in "smaller city" America to see top notch museums, the Berman delivers big on its offerings. They have items here you cannot find even in bigger museums, and items here you would expect to find only in bigger museums in larger cities. The design of the exhibits is second to none and really helps make the experience that much more enjoyable. Even those who are not major history buffs will find something to like in the Berman. This museum is a must see when you are in Anniston. If you have never been to Anniston the museums this city has to offer are reason enough to visit. So, what are you waiting for? Go visit the Berman at your earliest convenience!
After visiting the Anniston Musem on Natural History, we walked next door the the Berman Museum. This place has an awesome collection of historic and macabre weaponry.
If you love history, particularly weapons and spy gear, you will enjoy this unique museum. It is filled with a very eclectic collection of guns, paintings, bronze sculptures, swords, and even Hitler's tea service. We had a very helpful guide with great knowledge of the collector and his items. Don't miss this museum if you are in the area!
We were here as guests at a wedding. Grounds were well maintained. Site and facilities were kept clean. We were still able to access the museum and it was great. All the exhibits had plenty of information. It was educational and had interactive areas for kids. In the Asia area there were masks and kimonos to try on. There was an excellent WWII exhibit with a child's interactive "toy box". You can see Napoleon's hair care set. The wedding was beautiful because of the friends and family we were with, but it didn't see like the museum hosted weddings often. There was quality space that went unused. The rooms were people were supposed to get ready were filled with museum overflow (including a pistol that may or may not have been loaded), so it was hard to move around in and there wasn't much space to store things (like clothing that the groomsman changed out of, their garment bags, etc)
The Berman Museum of weapons and art is truly an amazing collection and chronology of weaponry through the ages. Individual pieces, such as Hitler's silver set, are unique objects of history that give one chills. The Remington and Russell bronzes are fabulous.
