Worth it to stop just for the laughter that ensues while you're trying to get a selfie with a giant peanut. Drive in next to Zaxby's, pass a couple of factories, and then take the small service road. There is even a gazebo where you can ponder the peanut.
It's right off the interstate, kitschy and free, so why not? Definitely something I'd never seen before...Take Exit 82 off of I-75, turn between Zaxby's & Pizza Hut, pass a few factories and a service road and the peanut will be on the left... Enjoy!
Only take 5 minutes off Exit 82. Fun picture. Don't miss the Crime and Punishment Museum at the same exit. Very good. Only takes about a hour.
We stopped here in this small town for a few stops and this was one of them. There was some kind of small festival going on at the park where the peanut is. We didn't stay for the festivities but the peanut was big and neat to see. If you need to get out for a few minutes to walk stop here and stretch out.
I have probably cruised passed this a number of times and never knew it was there. What a fun little thing to stop and check out! And if nothing else, just to say you did it! There is a very nice little gazebo with benches should you wish to picnic there. Although it was pouring rain when we went. it is right off the highway, so you should check it out.
Driving along the highway i just had to see what the fuss was about the peanut. So we got off the highway and drove down the road to the peanut. I knew it would be a cheesy stop, and this one did not disappoint. However, right before the peanut was a great country store - Caroll's Sausage Kitchen.Wow what a selection of sausages and meats. The shelves are also full of all varieties of jams and other goodies. We tasted a couple of the varieties of sausage and they were all delicious except for the screaming hot one! Not to our taste, but I am sure a lover of hot food would enjoy it.For those who don't eat meat stop and enjoy varieties of jams - jellies etc. It is an easy parking lot and lots of room for RV'ers. Huge turnaround area! If the peanut just didn't do enough for you try the sausage kitchen. You are already pulled over might as well give it a look see.
This is it the now made famous by Ashton Kutcher! A travelers must stop now and take a photo under place ! I got ours made ! Me & my crazy wild hubs !
This is a pretty cool little roadside stop. It's pretty much just a photo-op, but it's still a nice stop. Great to take a break from the road, and a nice stop for kids as there's room to run around.
... of a giant peanut. If you like gaudy roadside attractions (I do), then this is for you. It's alongside I-75. Exit off the interstate, and you're there in less than five minutes. There is a picnic table, and some grass to walk your dog.
I was taken to see this big nut statue after being in Ashburn for 2 days and asked 3 times if I'd seen it yet. Soooo, not much around since the candy plant shut down I guess. I did applaud the attraction because for one the locals are proud of it, but also it does have that genuine let's drive 200 miles out of the way to see this type atmosphere. You get there, plenty if parking, stare at the nut from a few angles, pic or two maybe Instagram, then head to the store there for a pop. Ashburn is a SWEET little town! If you're close by, drive through and enjoy the historic little place. You can hear the peanut factory rolling 24/7!!
