beautiful square. This is a great place for an aperitivo, or diner. Cafe lorenzo has some of the best stuffed olives. The travertine marble really shines at night.
Loving the travertine city, not that hectic yet... Nice at any time of the day. :-) Ascoli is worth seeing. Coming annually, I don= t like the trennino... but I understand good for the city budget
We happened on the fall festival in Piazza del Popolo. Great entertainment and terrific regional foods to sample and buy. The Piazza itself is very nice and spacious. Always something to see...even if it is just people watching!
This is a large piazza surrounded by interesting buildings and good coffee houses and restaurants. Quite lively in the evening with bags of atmosphere
Spend a while to watch the world go back, ideally at Caffe Meletti! This is one of the best piazzas we have visited in Italy, and we have seen a few!
This is beautiful square and nice scenery all around. Architecture at this area is worth seeing and feeling.
There are shops and restaurants with good food, and you can sit outside. The Cathedral that sits in the square is worth touring.
The lighting in the square is magnificent. There are shops, restaurants with in, and outdoor, seating. I loved visiting over and over again.
Do you dream to come back in the medieval age and live like King Arthur? Well "Piazza del popolo" in Ascoli Piceno is the right place to realize your dream. Each buildings, rocks, piece of sidewalk is perfectly saved since the age of the knights . At the same time you can find restaurants, pubs, shops and more over in order to have a wonderful time.
Ascoli Antica dates back to the Romans - as does everything in Italy, of course! The old town is typical of a quaint Italian town and is well preserved. The shops carry extremely glamourous and wearable clothes and the restarants have great cakes and coffee as well as ambiance. The town used to be in a wealthy area and you can see by the well-presented buildings that the locals are proud of their heritage.Lovely to find this has survived...it would have been turned into a holiday destination, jammed with tourists, anywhere else. This place is well worth a visit.
