Beautiful blend of organic farm with gourmet eating and accommodations--- stunning farm kitchen where we watched the chef prepared farm fresh dinner and then were able to stay upstairs in an 1890s 4 bedroom farmhouse --ck website for list of fun farm activities, we loved gathering the eggs before breakfast- and then there is the issue of the bacon...such a treat for families and couples
A group of friends spent a beautiful fall day and evening at Heyday Farm. We were greeted on the patio by the friendly staff and a spread of appetizers, all food was made and grown at the farm except the lemons! We were given a very informative tour-drinks in hand- of the gardens, barn and cheese making facility. Our dinner was terrific full of rustic farm favors in the beautiful dining room. They are great to work with, very helpful, an experience you won't forget, highly recommended.
We did a farm-to-table dinner and stayed the night in the guesthouse and had such a wonderful, relaxing, amazing getaway. This place is a treasure. The food was incredible, both the dinner and the breakfast the next morning. It was all very simply and competently prepared, with high quality ingredients, most of them from the farm. We loved hearing about their farming practices; all of the staff were available and accessible and happy to talk with us but also not obtrusive. Meals are family style, and we had such a great time meeting other people who also love food and care about where food comes from and how it is raised. The farm guesthouse is lovely and very comfortable for a quiet getaway; no TV (which we love), just the peaceful quiet of a farm. There's room to walk around the grounds and enjoy the gardens; we even got to see the cows being milked. If you are interested in food, this is a super fun getaway.
We lived on Bainbridge, and I miss the quality and ease of the local food Heyday provided! Stop at their store in Lynnwood Center for delicious eggs, beautiful produce, meat and farm kitchen goods. They are now open 6 days a week, I believe. Plus there is a delicious bakery next door, so what else do you need?! The farm itself is a beautiful place to visit for a class or stay. You can tell many hours of thought and care have gone into its development, truly a community minded project. I'm hoping they will start a kids cooking class in the future so our kiddos can learn from the chef and farmers when they get a little older.
Thanks so much for taking the time to post your feedback. While we are not certified organic, our practices are organic. Our beef cattle are entirely grass fed and our pork and chicken are pastured and fed organic, soy free organic grains grown in Washington. As a diversified farm that offers produce, meat and dairy, a farm stay, cooking classes and stay opportunities we work to keep our prices competitive but also must price things to reflect the quality and ethics that go into everything we do.
