I actually live next to this area. The legend of the Face Rock is famous, as the natives lived along the Coquille river, but came to the Ocean in Bandon to have ceremonies. Bandon, especially Face Rock is a spiritual place
Even if you don't go for a walk on the beach, a great view stop. All the rest areas arm worth stopping for.
Being from the gorgeous state of California I guess I felt a little spoiled until I walked down this amazing beach. The grandeur of the rugged rocks jutting out of water is simply breathtaking!
Come here at sunset to enjoy a spectacular view of the beautiful Oregon coast. It is a great photo opportunity if you like big rocks in the ocean with breakers crashing into them. Simply gorgeous.
Beautiful ocean view and fun to get at just the right angle for the Face Rock. Part of the Bandon Loop Drive West of Highway 101.
The view is worth the stop. A trip to Bandon's beaches are a great weekend stop or stopover on hwy 101.
Couldn't believe the rock with the face on it. Also, four people with rakes drawing a "maze" in the sand. Breath taking views and so very peaceful.
When here in March. What an amazing view one of the stairs going down to the beach was closed but there was another one just around the corner the view was spectacular well worth a visit
The Oregon coast definitely has its own personality, and this Face Rock says it all. :)If you are in the area, check out the unassuming Old Town Marketplace (Olde Towne Seafood & Market) for local grassfed beef, lamb, and pork, not to mention incredibly fresh seafood of all sorts. We were on an extended trip and thrilled to find a source of healthy food to replenish our RV freezer.
Nice beach to take a stroll around. Amazing views of different rocks in the beach. Opportunities to view wild life as well.
