With seating in the round, I thought that a comedian would find it hard to work the audience. Paula Poundstone turned it to her advantage, connecting people across the room and bringing the house down. Always available drinks at multiple bars didn't hurt.A good spot for a show.
The production of "Chicago" was so very well done. Glitzy, funny, and exceptional dance numbers. Loved every minute of it!!! The actress playing Thelma Kelly was a real standout. Wish it was running longer, I'd see it again.
Always a nice night out. I have been going for over 20 yrs. Plays and Concerts every seat is a good seat. Never dissatisfied.
Highly recommended. Almost every seat is a good one, and the quality of the shows is very good. The stage rotates, so everyone gets to see at least some of the show face-on. Drink and snack prices are reasonable, and there is plenty of space to relax outdoors before the show and during intermission. We love going to shows in Boston, but it sure is nice to get in your car and be home by 11 after seeing a show at the North Shore Music Theatre.
I have been a season ticket holder for the North Shore music theater for going on Seven years now.I am looking forward to seeing Chicago, Les Miserables, and a Christmas Carol this season.
Went to see their production of Anything Goes. It was as slick and fast paced a show as I have seen.Performed in the round, as are all their shows, most entrances and exits are through the audience. You feel drawn in and part of the performance.Very high standards of production and cast, it is well worth taking a trip or a subscription.Advice...Get there early as parking, and leaving the car park can be a nightmare. You can pay extra for privileged parking and be the first vehicles to leave.Cost of entry to the show may vary, but perhaps on the high side. However the production costs must be large. It is good to see them keeping live theater, especially musicals, alive. So many theaters now have it completely wrong and show eclectic, fringe or progressive shows that try to be a little too clever about issues of our time. People don't want that! They want to be entertained and a familiar and entertaining (Maybe old fashioned) show is what they want. Good on ya NSMT! Only thing...Not enough washroom facilities. In the intermission when everyone gets up to go, get there quick or get in the line up!
This is theater in the round and it is quite well done. The performers were professionals and did a fine job delivering an enjoyable evening of entertainment. I didn't particularly think any of the performers had great voices and in one spot at least one performer was off-key. Although it was only average live performance, I would definitely take it in.
I love the music theater. The productions are as good as any in Boston. There is not a bad seat in the house, as it is theater in the round. I recently saw The Little Mermaid. The acting, singing, orchestra and casting was top notch. The special effects were amazing as were the detailed costumes. The productions will not disappoint. I am looking forward to see Les Miserables in November.
Always a good production. We have been attending the "Christmas Carol" for many years. This was our first "summer" production. We saw "Anything Goes" and it was delightful. The music was great, the seating was great, and the whole event, while expensive, was well worth it. It is a shame that live theater is so expensive ($300 for 4) these days, but we would go again, for special occasions. The parking is good, but plan 15++ min. to get out after a show.
Hubby and I went to see the Dancing with a Twist show, which we haven't been to NSMT in a really long time. Not only was the show awesome, but we forgot that there is no bad seat in the house. Staff was wonderful, too. The bathroom lines were a bit long but all the ladies were there to see Max, lol. The outside grounds are beautiful to have a drink prior to the show and we plan to have dinner there the next time we go. We truly forgot what a jewel we have right in our backyard.
