Visited here after a stay at a near by hotel, so glad we did. It is certainly somewhere you can enjoy snapping your camera as we did. We noticed lots of young families walking round and I can understand why. Lots of exciting places to explore, and it was set out in a way which just lead you round. A lot of thought and detail has been put into these gardens. We will have to return in the summer to see it in full bloom, and I am sure we will see a completely different garden. And also have tea and scones outside as we normally do when visiting NT properties, always the best scones you can find ! The only difficulty I could see in this gardern is, it is not wheelchair friendly, and also not suitable for anyone who has difficulty in negotiating different leveled grounds.
A world experience all in one garden, lake with carp that can be fed ,beautiful Japanese garden , Egypt, stumpery lovely walks picnicking too much too mention a must to visit,it's on our doorstep visited many times and allways have a cream tea in tea room to finish lovely.
I came here with my two and five year olds along with other family members. The gardens we lovely although I think they would have been better in the summer. Access is not the easiest with a push chair. Anyone in a wheel chair would be limited in what they can see. Small second hand book shop was a nice addition. Would I go back? At some point but I won't be rushing to get back
We spent an afternoon here. The gardens are beautiful all different types and all very well tended too. The old hall is lovely and the ice cream is not to be missed. Good value for money, it's good to see some of our historical sites been maintained and used,
On our first visit to these gardens, we received a very warm welcome, given good information and thoroughly enjoyed a walk around the gardens. In February, with snow on the ground, not a lot of people there. We loved it, and want to go back in the summer.
Biddulph Grange Gardens is beautiful all year round. Easter egg hunts, Halloween with witches & pumpkins or a wander through the gardens on a lovely summer's day. You will not be disappointed. The children's trail is worth doing as you'll learn so much about the gardens. It's a great place to take children. Don't leave without stopping off in the cafe. This was an operating theatre in days gone by as Biddulph Grange was an orthopaedic hospital in the past.
Victorian garden, some parts restored. Beautiful rhododendrons. There are steps (a disadvantage for less mobile) but a nice cafe, shop & secondhand bookshop.
We really enjoyed walking around the gardens, we wished we had gone in the morning to get the full benefit, will defo go back again. Good place to meet with friends and have a nice walk and a bite to eat.
The gardens of Biddulph Grange are beautiful and organised as if you are touring the world. As far as seeing the house I would say check before you go and see what particular exhibitions are or are not running. There are tea rooms of a reasonable standard.
Fantastic gardens to get little kiddies imaginations going. Walk through an English cottage garden, through Egypt, China, through small windy rock tunnels. Visit anytime, although Spring/summer is probably best. Not very good access for pushchairs/wheelchairs due to the nature of the gardens. Lovely little shop and tearoom.
