Whenever we have friends visiting the Niagara region, we're sure to take them on a trip to Inniskillin Wines. There, they can taste the award-winning Icewine that is created after the grapes on the vine have frozen. It's an exacting process and very interesting to learn about. Although it can be crowded at times (a sign of how popular it is), once you make your way to the tasting bar you're in for a real treat. We love to stock up on a few bottles of other Inniskillin wines while we're there. I'd especially recommend a visit to this winery during the annual "Days of Wine and Chocolate" festival in February.
Had my favorite ice wine here during the ice wine festival! The oak aged Vidal was amazing, as well as the sparkling version. However, I'm not the type to spend over 85 dollars on 375ml of liquid...
We did the Ice Wine Tour on a blustery November day and it was a fantastic experience. Our tour guide Lynne was great and very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the wine and the winery. She first took us outside to look at the vines, then explained how the ice wine is made, then we went down to the cellar, which was really cool. After that we went back to the main tasting room and sampled some amazing ice wines, including an ice wine champagne that was like fairies dancing on the tongue. It was a great tour and I would highly recommend it
This was a good tour with awesome wines to sample at the end. The tour fee was nominal, and the staff was friendly. You are taken to a room with older bottles and some type of cellar, there is a short film about the harvest of ice wine. It makes you understand the challenges in making ice wine and why its more costly than most. There is parking onsite as well.
Had an absolute ball preparing dinner in our groups, and the tour of the winery was very interesting. It was also neat to hear that the wine glasses were especially made in Austria to accommodate the different kinds of wines.
Friendly staff great wine and best ice wines.go in with a good time attitude you will enjoy the experience. If you see Catia or Melissa get them to help you.great at their job.
I have been here before, but this time back to try the ice wines. The service was excellent, the tour here provided by the hotel, we were allowed to try a few wines including the higher end Ice Wine. The ice wine was excellent and extremely tasty. Especially the "red" ice wine. I would highly recommend this place to any wino as the service was friendly, the wines good and the atmosphere very good.
This was the first winery we visited in the region. The staff were very helpful and friendly and because it wasn't busy, were happy to chat. We tasted 3 wines and bought 2, so we were impressed with their wines. It was our first taste if ice wine and we weren't disappointed.
