Great place to visit. Mules Shoes was awesome....the vodka was so smooth...nice peace of history...great pictures
This is a fun stop for adults. You are limited to two drinks a day and we had to stop by two days in a row. The four of us tried and shared tastes of a wide variety of drinks made from alcohol they distill on sight. We loved it!
We visited last summer and didn't leave with a good impression because it seemed really crowded and noisy ( we are in our late 60's). This time it was less crowded and the nice waitress was able to explain to us that it's a distillery, not the brewery we had wrongly assumed before. Technically, by MT law (and they adhere strictly to this)' one is allowed only two drinks and to leave with one purchased bottle. My favorite was a Manhattan with a fine bourbon distilled right there called "never sweat " ( named after an historical Butte mine, as are all the alcohol choices there). As I love JD on the rocks, I believe I would also enjoy this one on the rocks. There are also some tasty drinks on the "Teetotalers" page of the menu. All in all, this is a "must visit" in Butte.
We'd been wanting to visit Headframe Spirits for awhile, and we finally had the chance during the MT Folk Festival! Fun, fun, fun! I had a couple of their lemon and basil flavored cocktails including the martini. It was a gorgeous drink and very delicious! Even though the place was packed, the service was very good. We loved our visit to Headframe!
Thank you so much for stopping in and trying out one of our signature libations! We hope you'll continue to enjoy it as much as we do!Cheers!Courtney McKee
This is a super cool place with home made whiskey's, gin and vodka. If you are a gin drinker check out Anselmo. A superb craft gin with great history. My purchase made it safely back into Canada on a motorcycle!
This was the highlight of our vacation!! We have told all of our friends and will be returning very soon!! LOVE THIS PLACE!
Lots of fun! Great tasting bourbon. Worth the stop in for a drink. Fascinating history. Love the location.
On a stopover on our journey south for the winter, Butte has become our favorite spot to explore for an evening or day. So many great places to see. This time, friends took us to Headframe Spirits - an energy-filled, fun little distillery that offers sampling of their products! 2 drinks and purchase of 2 bottles per day is the limit. All I can say is Go. See. Try! What a great spot. Full of fun-loving people, run/operated by people who are passionate about what they do. The young owners will likely be there, and their staff are energetic, hip, efficient and full of personality! The history of the town only adds to the flavor. A great menu of cocktails to try that feature Headframe spirits - something for everyone. We will definitely make this place one of those we revisit. Like someone else said - it does feel like a coffee shop! My husband (who previously has had bad bourbon experiences) went home with a bottle of Neversweat Bourbon, and I had to get a bottle of Orphan Girl Bourbon Cream Liqueur as well. There is that great Montana spirit here as well - kick back, relax, meet some people, smile and let go of your worries. Enjoy life! They do a good job of it here :)
In Butte for a work training event, my colleagues and I stopped at Headframe after hearing their spirits were top-notch. All the recommendations were spot on. The atmosphere at Headframe was lovely- feels like a coffee shop. I loved taking in all the historic touches of the space. The bartenders were delightful and service was great. But let's get to the real reason you'd go to a distillery-- the liquors. Everything we sampled was really good, but in my opinion, Orphan Girl is not to be missed! The prices for drinks are very reasonable as are the prices for bottles themselves. Buy a bottle or two while you're here and save on the markup at the State Liquor Store. Don't drive through SW Montana without stopping at Headframe!
