We were in the Hunter valley recently and visited the small winemakers centre. We tasted a few wines - which were lovely. We had our 2 kids with us and the lady was most helpful - she got some food for the girls and was very welcoming. They did have toys for them to play with but the girls were clearly entertained just sitting with us. The restaurant there is just lovely with great menu. It isn't cheap but the food is very good.
A great cellar door to visit where there is no rush to sample the wines on offer. The staff are very pleasant and full of information.
Samantha greeted us with a smile and a great journey began. A good variety of wines and growers. Samantha's passion kept us entertained with her knowledge and enthusiasm. Definitely a return trip.
Loved our experience today here! Visited with my partner while we were in Hunter for the weekend. The wines were delicious and perfectly matched to our tastes. Sam was very knowledgable about the wines and very warm and friendly. Atmosphere was relaxed and quiet. Will be back!
Enjoyed a large share platter for two on the shady cafe deck after a delicious selection of wine tastings inside. The staff were warm, approachable and very knowledgable when it comes to food and wine!!
This venue represents a few of the small winemakers in the Hunter Valley which makes for a convenient stop for those who are time poor. I tried some outstanding wines from Little Wine Co, David Hook and Margan Wines amongst others. You can purchase from multiple wineries in one stop and have the box delivered to your door, great for interstate an overseas travellers.
We had the Small Winemakers Centre recommended to us by David Hook Wines (which was a fantastic venue with outstanding wine itself) and were very glad we made the trip. We were lucky enough to come across the amazing Sam, who was knowledgeable about wine and just a lot of fun to spend some of our afternoon with as we sampled the great wines on offer. Would thoroughly recommend anyone visiting this region make sure the Small Winemakers Centre is marked on your map as a 'must stop'.
You come here to have the best wines with the nicest people. Fabulous selection of wines from quality winemakers in a lovely welcoming environment. Love this place and the amazing people that work at giving you such a wonderful experience.
We called in to the Small Winemaker Centre on advice from friends who had been here before. Great advice - this place is terrific. The amazingly fantastically bright & bubbly Sam is something to behold. This woman is incredible! Her enthusiasm & knowledge of wine is wonderful. Her help & guidance helpful. And she was never pushy. She talked to us about what our likes & dislikes were before she guided us through the wines available for tasting. She is a person who we would love to sit down with over a great bottle of wine - easy company & great knowledge. Thanks for your help Sam & we're really looking forward to our deliveries this year. Oh & a special mention for the "jack of all trade" Rachel - thanks for the great smiles & laughs whilst we were "working" our way through the tastings with Sam. Highly recommend a visit to this great centre.
This was a miss for us. The the tasting room is small and was fully occupied when we got there. A crying shame as the wines looked interesting The food shop at this place is a serious outrage. You need to take out a mortgage to buy a jar of mustard, pickles or whatever. As an example, a small jar of dhukka is priced at $16.95. Other prices were similarly absurd: that is, about 2-3 times over the odds. Anyone other than multi millionaires will starve here. We avoided anything rash and drove on with our cash intact.
