In my visits, it always has art work of interest in a very modern setting. Very professional. Has worthwhile permanent exhibits. The recent All Florida juried exhibit was mediocre.
I am a museum member and always enjoy their exhibits, particularly during the tourist season (Thanksgiving through Easter). The main floor rotates exhibits monthly and has interesting side activities, includings lectures and guided tours. The upper floor is the permanent collection, which has a variety of paintings and fascinating artifacts. Well worth the cost of admission or membership.
This beautiful museum is located in the heart of Boca Raton in a beautiful area that includes parks an amphitheater shops and wonderful restaurants. Weather you enjoy a modern art or not this is not the issue since this museum is a movable eye feast for almost anyone. Do yourself a favor and plan to spend time at this unique art museum then go for a nice meal at the nearby mall. Enjoy!
It is located in "Mizner Park" off US1. There is meter parking, you cannot drop off in front of the building as the buildings main entrance faces the amphitheater. There is lots of shops and restaurants in the plaza.
A small Art Museum, but very nice work. Beside a Permanent Exhibit, there are always new work on display. Part of Mizner Park and well worth the visit.
In beautiful and happening Mizner Park, one of the best art museums in South Florida.A fine collection of American and European paintings and sculptures, including a special masters section. The Pre-Columbian and Asian exhibits are impressive. There is always a great special exhibition going on at any time throughout the year.
Interesting architecture and pleasant permanent collection. I was not too impressed with the visiting shows.
This small but well curated museum offers visitors a nice permanent collection augmented by lovely and timely exhibits. THe museum is well cared for and offers a wondefful morning or afternoon sojourn preceded by a lunch at one of the nearby restaurants. All together makes a lovely outing.
I am a member and frequent patron. This is a relatively small art museum that offers an eclectic permanent collection and brings in some amazing temporary exhibits - not massive in quantity but some incredible pieces. The building architecture is very nice, clean and modern and the museum is maintained and ran with the professionalism you see in much more substantial institutions. They're often open late on Wednesdays, I'd take my kids for an hour and bribe them with ice cream from Sloan's (a few minute stroll from the museum). The permanent collection includes a variety of artists including Warhol and a few pieces that make you shake your head and wonder if the new wife had them donated just to get them out of the ex wife's house (this is Boca!). I often run into the museum's shop to buy unique gifts for teachers, friends, and colleagues. It too is small but the merchandise is well chosen and displayed and is reasonably priced for museum store pieces. Love love love our little art haven! It is good for all ages, even the children for short periods who I believe get in free.
Every time I visit, I am impressed by the level of art there is here. Also they have welcoming evenings with refreshments and dosants telling you about the current exhibits. There is also an excellent gift shop
