Beautiful clear waters, lots of sea life to watch. Good local restaurant on the water, valley of the frogs.
We have been lucky to be able yo watch them play in the pacific off CA shoreline - dolphin Bay and the pictures posted are nothing BUT MARKETING! You might see a couple of fins while harassing them with the many other boats - certainly not worth the negative impact you leave with your visit. The water taxi tours GAMBIT- tours are focused on making money - nothing more. The water taxi rides are eXpensive but highly UNSAFE with disregard to Eco tourism, wild life or the safety of tourists. When we boarded our taxi this morning it was completely over packed and one hour late - only after my husband inquired about capacity limits they took 3 ppl off the boat onto another one. They are ignorant towards their wildlife and beautiful islands ( btw they charge $10/ pP additionally for Zapatillo island since it is a National Park - it is completely trashed). They live the trash behind on any Island but mostly disturbing for RED FROG and Zapatillo - the extra National Park Charge is knot park service fees but simply another money making machine. They have to learn a lot.
Perhaps if you've never witnessed a dolphin, this could be cool.Otherwise, this was very poor. It's a small cove where you are lucky to see a dolphin fin. We saw upwards of 10- again, nothing more than a fin. They did not jump out of the water.Worst part was there were nearly 15 boats as tours visiting this area to see Dolphins. When one would surface, all boats rushed over, then there were no more Dolphins. They would surface in another area and all 15 boats would rush over. It was silly and harassing to the Dolphins.
Got to see a pair of dolphins but reminded oddly of the Kenyan safari only instead of jeeps surrounding a lion couple mating, it was a bevy of boats floating after a pair of dolphins. If you have seen dophins before, don't bother. Otherwise worth. We did it on a boat tour around and this was included. So worthwhile.
Our hearts were set on seeing dolphins and the boat tour did it disappoint. There were several pairs of dolphins gliding elegantly along the crystal clear waters. I even caught a shot of one taking a surface dive!
We did a catamaran trip for the day with Bocas Sailing for $48 and visited Dolphin bay first. We saw lots of dolphins- 4 in total I think it was. There was a mother and her two babies. They were jumping out of the water lots and came very close to the boat. Cool to see.
As soon as the mother and baby dolphin surfaced, all boats rushed towards them (some boat captains being egged on by over-eager tourists). Dolphins soon disappeared n resurfaced in a different location some time later, only to be chased again. There were so many more dolphins to be seen 10years ago when we were the only boat and the engine was off!
gorgeous place, and lots of dolphins. The boats stay on for about 15 minutes to ensure you view all dolphins. The views are gorgeous, the bay is tranquil.
We booked a boat tour that included a stop at Dolphin Bay. I realize that there is no guarantee to see any dolphins, so we were happy to have spotted at least one lone dolphin playfully swimming through the bay.
No wildlife seen, just another section of water. Even the snorkelling was poor other than sponge corals.
