Lots of photo ops..incredible drive from Belnem down south..snorkel along the way at Margate.
A cool thing to see while driving around the southern tip of Bonaire! Bought both bath salts and cooking salt from a store in town- very affordable and high quality!
Saly flats, salt mountains, pink lakes, and of course lots of sunshine. Also some most interesting former slave quarters. A must when in Bonaire.
You can see from a distance the saltmountains but around you have the lake in pink and blue. Amazing view ! The drive in the south of the island is great and you can see the difference between the see on both sides of the island.
It is fascinating to look at the massive mounds of salt and learn about how the process works. The crystalizing ponds are an unusual pink color, adding to their intrigue.
The pekelmeer is an historical part of Bonaire with a very nice view. While enjoying the salt hills, salt foam, the pink colored water at one side, there is a beatiful beach at the other side. Divers can enjoy nice views of the under water world.
we were driving to pink sand beach and other snorkeling and came across the salt mountains we had read about . it's very close to the some snorkeling places and the slave huts. We came during rainy season and snorkeled in the light rain .. the snorkeling was good.
