An art exhibition and shop and also art classes in the ground keeper's house. Lovely gardens, lot of different trees and well groomed flower beds. A easy access to the river trails. Often has craft sales. Just a nice walk in the park.
Beautiful and well kept gardens. Wonderful walking paths and sitting areas. Small museum has art produced by local artists. Be sure to visit lower gardens.
Beautiful space both inside and out. Always great events happening year round. Great space to rent for your own event
Fantastic service, relaxed atmosphere. The location is beautiful, and you are not rushed. It is truly a wonderful experience. I have been to the Golden Tea Pot on 3 occassions now with friends and would highly recommend it to anyone as a great experience.
At Christmas time they have a huge light display to music. They also convert the tea house into a place to purchase Christmas gifts. In the summer, wedding photos are taken here and they have an art gallery in the main house (beautiful castle like), and a tea house to visit and sit for tea.
I was very impressed with the relaxed atmosphere of having lunch at the Golden Teapot. The service provided by Linda was wonderful! The lunch was delicious & an excellent choice of many flavors of tea. I will return & I highly recommend this lovely tea room to everyone. Linda D.
lovely gardens, go when the weather is nice and allow time to walk around. Take any visitors as its not to be missed.
We tried this tea house after seeing the great reviews and we're very disappointed. The setting is gorgeous but the experience was very poor. I had asked for the gluten free option when I booked but received the regular sandwiches. For the price I expected more than store-bought tarts and fererro roche chocolates. The tea was nothing special. We were surprised to receive old Christmas gingerbread on the 7th of January. We were disappointed no one told us the gallery was closed when we called to book. Lovely pleasant service - but would not return. There are far better tea houses for low and high tea in the region.
We wanted a small gathering for the women in our family to celebrate my niece's upcoming wedding. We thought that an afternoon tea would be perfect way to do this without being too bridal-shower-ish. We were are so very thrilled with our tea at The Golden Teapot. Linda was an amazing hostess from the moment she greeted us at the door. The room is small but beautifully decorated. The table setting was stunning. We opted for a low-tea, and this was certainly enough to fill our tummies (I don't think we would have finished the high-tea option). The sandwiches and sweets were delicious, as was the tea. We had two girls, ages 6 & 7, and Linda accommodated them with PB&J and PB&banana sandwiches! She also brought out tiaras for them (flower-girls-to-be) and for the bride-to-be. Linda was so kind and attentive, she made our afternoon very special. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the Golden Teapot is. You must go. Go now.
People of Brantford are missing the boat when it comes to Glenhyrst gardens. There's a fair bit of activity happening there but there's room for a lot more to enjoy. The yards will be coming alive soon, as they decorate for Christmas. You can also go into the gallery when visiting the Christmas scene, and enjoy a warm drink, and some fine artwork. The lower gardens also connect with a trail running along the river. During one visit I actually caught a glimpse of an Eagle as it swooped by. A variety of exciting things to do, so check into what they have to offer.
