Gary:Thanks for your review, and thanks for visiting Brian Head Resort. Our goal is to be the best affordable, family friendly ski resort in the country. We'd like to think that we're even better than Tahoe - we offer much lower ticket prices, no lift lines, and of course we have the Greatest Snow on Earth.Come visit us again soon!Sincerely,Burke WilkersonGeneral Manager
Thanks for your review. We like to think of our Las Vegas customers as locals. After all, we're almost in your backyard, and we are the closest Resort to the "Greatest Snow on Earth". Our new high-speed quad chair lift (the Giant Steps Express) reduced the ride time to the top by half, and absolutely brought Brian Head Resort to an all new level of excellence. As you mentioned, our lift ticket prices are some of the cheapest in the industry, and make us an extrordinary value for a family-friendly ski experience. The majority of the time, the short 12-mile drive up the canyon to Brian Head is a breeze. The State Road department does an excellent job keeping the road clear after a snowstorm, but it is always a good idea to keep a set of chains handy when heading to the mountains in the winter if you don't have 4-wheel drive. Thanks again for your review, and come back again soon and enjoy all our fresh new snow.Sincerely,Burke WilkersonGeneral ManagerBrian Head Resort
We love BrianHead resort. We have been enjoying the low price, uncrowded runs, and amazing snow for a long time, but love it so much we bought a condo. The resort has improved leaps and bounds over the last 2 years. The high speed quad lift and Last Chair Saloon have been the icing on the cake. We have increased our on the snow time ten fold, and love the food, service and atmosphere at the main lodge.
I've taken my kids to Brianhead for the past 10 years, since they were 6 & 8, and they have just as much fun now as teenagers. The resort has made some great improvements such as the fire pits, revamped cafe and new coffee shop at Navajo. The lift ticket prices are reasonable and even on crowded weekends the lines are not too bad. Even though there was a lack of snow this year we had a great time!
The parking was the closest to the lifts of any place I have ever skied. The weekday lift ticket price of $35 cannot be beat. Great place for intermediate skiers. The runs were well marked. My 12 year old had no problems finder her own way down and I did not have to worry about her getting lost if I took a more challenging route. My husband was kept busy with the black moguls. Great place if you want to try skiing through trees without the risk of serious injury because there were numerous areas with saplings sticking through the snow for you to try it out.
Thank you for your review. Similar to many other businesses, our largest operating cost is labor. As such, we attempt to schedule the appropriate number of ski and snowboard instructors to accomodate the number of lessons reserved for any given day. If a guest does not arrive for their scheduled lesson, we still incur the additional payroll, and possibly lost revenue resulting from guests being turned away if the lessons for that day are at capacity (which is generally the case during busy holiday periods). We do offer a full refund for lessons cancelled 48-hours in advance. We did have snow on Christmas day, but the road to Brian Head was open, and many guests joined us and enjoyed the fresh Utah powder.I apologize you were informed that you would receive a refund and it has never arrived. Please contact Traci in our reservation/ticketing department and she will process your refund immediately.I hope you will give us another chance to win you over to the Brian Head Resort family.Sincerely,Burke WilkersonGeneral Manager
Thanks for visiting Brian Head Resort. We appreciate your business. The new high-speed quad has been a great addition to the mountain. It has cut the ride time to the top in half, which means twice as much skiing! You're right, even with the substantial investment in the new lift, not only didn't we raise our lift ticket prices, we actually lowered our mid-week lift ticket price by $19 (35%).The fence around the outdoor eating area was actually removed last year when we completely removed the old wooden deck and replaced and enlarged it with a beautiful new paver deck including two new firepits. There are several ski/snowboard racks around the deck, but it sounds like we need to add a few more (thanks for sharing your observation). Thanks for your review, and please come visit us again soon!Sincerely,Burke WilkersonGeneral ManagerBrian Head Resort
Thanks for your kind review! We like to think that we are more than a "Palatable Option" to the Southern California resorts. We are the closest ski resort to So. Cal. for that famous Utah powder (in fact, we have the highest base elevation of any ski resort in Utah); we offer some of the lowest lift ticket prices in the industry; we are uncrowded (which means you spend more time skiing and less time waiting in lift lines); we offer a wide variety of terrain for all ability levels; our ski and snowboard school with its all new Terrain Based Learning program is the best and easiest way for you and your family to learn to ski or snowboard, and; we offer a family-friendly, safe environment for you and your children. So yes, we truly believe that we are far more than a "Palatable Option" to the expensive, crowded, and snow-barren ski resorts in Southern California.Again, thank you for your review, and please come and visit us again soon!Sincerely,Burke WilkersonVice President and General ManagerBrian Head Resort
Skied midweek and basically owned the mountain, skiing into every lift with no lines. The mountain is small by resort standard, but offers lots of great, blue groomers and short, steep headwalls and open trees. The $35 weekday rates are a bargain.
Mike:Thanks for your review. Yes, we pride ourselves on our elevation. We actually have the highest base elevation of any ski resort in Utah. Our high elevation also means that year in and year out we have some of the best snow conditions in the western United States. Even though snowfall in the west this year has been a bit lean, we have been able to retain much of the snow we have received, and coverage of our terrain is still quite good. The locker price of $10 that you refer to is our largest locker, which can accomodate most of an entire faimily's needs. We do have smaller lockers available at a lower price points. Also, one small correction, our adult full-day, non-holiday period ticket price is actually $54. Our child/senior price is $39. New this season, we are offering a great mid-week, non-holiday period price of just $35 for adults and $25 for childen and seniors.Again, thanks for your review, and please come see us again soon!Sincerely,Burke WilkersonVice President and General ManagerBrian Head Resort
