A bit aged, one thing of days gone by is that the animals are exhibited close to the people, so that little ones can usually easily see the animals. There has been some renovations done, but not too much in the way of making the exhibits look natural.
great zoo - small enough that you can go through it with kids and not be overwhelmed. Fall and winter visits are best as the animals are more active - especially the tigers, bears (sorry, no lions) and wolves, A GREAT CAROUSEL IN ZOO AS WELL.
This zoo is well taken care of. Although not huge it is big enough for 2 hrs of your time. Unfortunately the carrousel wasn't in operation. A lovely surprise
lots to see and the park is nice to visit as well. Good time to enjoy with a date or kids. Not an expensive day trip at all. Worth checking out.
was quiet when we arrived - before 1000 on a grey October morning but as the morning went on more people were arriving. It was nice to wander around and see the animals - especially the wolves. I learned a lot about them from the information on the enclosure and viewing point walls. Most of the animal are from N & S America but there were a few from elsewhere like the leopard and tiger. Well worth a visit - staff are friendly and helpful and the café was good also.
We had a really lovely day. The weather couldn’t have been better. Not all of the animals were visible, but it was still nice to walk around and take in what animals you could. The zoo is clean and very easy to maneuver. Bathrooms are clean and accessible in two different areas of the zoo. Nice concession bar with extremely reasonable prices. And, admission was reasonable too. On this particular day the zoo was not that busy so it was perfect for adults to walk leisurely through the zoo. There is a small gift store and a greenhouse that you can walk through. The peacocks have the run of the zoo and just meander about. There is a wonderful carousel in working order with refurbished horses and other animals that once were at another carousel. The zoo is well kept and I really had no idea prior to coming here how really nice the zoo was. The zoo closes at 4:00 p.m. Had it been a day where school was out, then we wouldn't have gone. If you have the time and would like to take advantage of a really none stress day, I suggest you spend a day at the zoo.
An inexpensive day with the family with something for everyone. There are reptile and monkey houses, a merry go round, and numerous outside exhibits with a variety of animals. The property is attractively landscaped and there are easy to navigate pathways throughout. souvenirs and food is reasonably priced and everyone in the family will have a fun day.
This is not a large zoo at all but it is very nice. The animals appear to be well cared for and the entire zoo is very clean. The staff was nice and the attractions appeared to be well maintained.
This zoo is great- especially for kids. The have a great children's zoo. The rainforest exhibit is great too. The have a lot of great animals, good cafe, carousel and friendly volunteers and zookeepers.
While not the largest of zoo it is perfect for children under 10. There are activities and exhibits that are age appropriate. Have taken my grandson at age 3 and now at age 5 and both visits were memorable.
