Get there early because they close at 7 pm and there's a wait to get in. They have a heated tent out back to wait in and you can order beer. The beer sampler was great! Food was standard but big portions!
Came for lunch, which was very good, and obviously had some great beer. Only disappointing thing is the tour is self-guided, basically just a platform above the brewing floor. So not as exciting or educational as having a full tour.
The best part of the distillery is of course the finished product. You can do the self-guided tour, but it's more like a short hallway with a few placards, overlooking the brewery floor. The stars of course are the different beers you can sample there. The staff is very friendly and willing to help with beer selections. I'm not an IPA fan, which Long Trail tends to favor, but they have several other regular and seasonal selections. We were very pleasantly surprised by the seasonal Pumpkin ale. I also am not a fan of fruits in my beers, let alone vegetables, but the pumpkin is very good, with only a very subtle hint of the pumpkin. The brewery also has a large selection of T-shirts, and other souvenirs, and beer of course to take with you. Great visit - especially after a full day of touring the area. Unfortunately we already had dining plans so did not eat here.
Where do I start, at the title...I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! My wife and I went up to Sugarbush for the weekend and stopped here on the drive home. We showed up at a perfect time, just before lunch and more importantly just in time for lunch. The self guided tour was great, with plenty of illustrated signs, there was no beer unliked, great food including the soup, the overall environment was well liked w the decor conducive to my beer drinking desires and the restrooms are amazing. Great beer...and the service but the beer is a step above. A++++++
Went this past weekend, as we were in the area and love LT brews. We were pleasantly surprised by the experience and the brewery itself. The tour is self guided and extremely quick, so not a main focus of the experience, but interesting nonetheless. The food was absolutely delicious and the menu was interesting. The service was also top notch. The atmosphere is laid-back and comfortable. There is a fire pit outside during the winter and we took our beers outside to enjoy the beautiful snow covered scenery on the river that flows by behind the building. Last, but not least, the beers were outstanding, but we already knew that! It's nice when you love a product and then find that you also admire the company that is behind the magic. Thank you Long Trail for a perfect end to a great birthday weekend!
Great restaurant on site. Awesome "Sampler" of Long Trail's various brews available. Really friendly staff. Nice selection of "gear" at the souvenir shop.
The brewery tour is nice! It's fun to see where the beer is made. It's about what I have come to expect from brewery tours generally. I'd come here primarily for the amazing beer and food at the restaurant!
Beer is delicious, food is great (just bring back the nachos), and a visit with Roy makes the visit complete!
Hi Barbara, thanks for taking the time to share this feedback with us. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the brews and views, but regret to hear of your less than satisfactory experience with some of our menu items. We do our best to provide our guests with high quality pub fare, and apologize that not everything you ordered was to you and your husband’s liking. We’ve shared your review with our Visitor Center management team and kitchen staff, and measures will be taken to ensure this doesn’t happen again. We hope you’ll consider giving us another try the next time you’re in the area. Cheers!
Touring in Vermont on a beautiful October day, we found the perfect place to stop and relax---the Long Trail Brewing company. Surrounded by the colorful mountains, set along the river, we were content to sit on the outdoor deck, take in the scenery, and sample the Long Trail beers. We ordered the classic sample, 4 Long Trail classic beers and 2 seasonal brews (including a Pumpkin beer). Larger samples than other breweries I have visited--and I appreciated the "Trail Guide" of the beers so we knew what we were drinking. Ordered a delicious Vermont Cheese/Beer soup that hit the spot, and friends ordered other delicious appetizers (white bean dip with pita...so good). Really friendly service, great location, nice atmosphere inside too. We bought a few tourist souvenirs and headed back onto our scenic drive. I recommend this stop if you like to try new brews, and or if you are just looking for a nice site for lunch along the river.
