This is a really beautiful Arts Centre. The decor inside takes you back in time while the exhibitions of art and jewelry showcase the talents of local artists and artisans. I had the please of seeing "The Butler" while visiting Brockville. It is such a classy venue to watch a movie in.
Theatre was a decent size with pretty good sound. Parking at rear of building was a great asset. I joined the BAC Society and now receive notice of all current and future events in time to consider visiting from Ottawa ( one hour or so away). Packages are available through the BAC website for Rooms and Theatre. Restaurants are within a five block radius of the theatre. A great boon to City of Brockville and travelers who enjoy theatre or music along with their boating, fishing, cottage vacations.
We recently saw the Eagles tribute band Hotel California here and the facility is outstanding. Great seating , great sound and the staff is very friendly and helpful. A bar is open during the show halftime break.
Restored 1858 opera house is tastefully restored and the seats are comfortable. The theatre seats about 700, and was nearly full for this special event.
I love the size. Probably not a bad seat in the whole place. I also love the staff, so warm and friendly.
Everybody should see a show at the Brockville Arts Center. It's a great looking place and you feel relaxed and "at home".The theater is set up in a way that results in no bad seats.Acoustics in this building are excellent...making you feel thatyour part of the show....connected to the performers. Some of the shows I've seen there are: Randy Bachman, RonJames, Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter, Hotel California, ColinJames, and Don Harron. Prices are much more reasonable thanif you see a show at one of the larger stadium sized venues.Next time you see a show that you'd like adversited at BAC...GO!
Just saw a high-school production of Grease here on the weekend, and have to say, I was thoroughly impressed with the "new and improved" Brockville Arts Centre. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house! The lobby is lovely, and elegant, with many wonderful items of artwork from local artisans on display, and a beautiful baby grand played in the lobby before and after the show, as well as during intermission. A well-stocked bar for intermission to purchase snack, and soft-drink, or a glass of wine. Super helpful staff, incredibly comfortable seating, classic finishes, and a cozy, warm, and historic atmosphere. Great location right in Downtown Brockville, so easy and convenient to make dinner reservations at one of many downtown restaurants nearby for before the show!
One of my favorite entertainments. The variety offered is outstanding from concerts, plays etc etc. The renovations are lovely. Incredible sound system. I am a regular to visit their amazing plays with such talented performers. I was also impressed with the play "Grease".Of course there is a bar open during break with a wonderful staff. Not to mention the various concerts. If near the area make a stop & treat yourself.Tracy
This is Brockville's cultural centre. Plays, musicals, concerts and all types of theatrical events occur here. An Opera House built in 1858 and recently renovated is a cultural jewel in the city of the Thousand Islands.
The Brockville Arts Centre has shows that are comparable to any, the entertainment manager, Peter Dunn is experienced in bringing in only the best of entertainers, a must see
