The Citadel at Budva costs €2.50 per person to enter for which you can see the Library and a very small museum (One room). The best thing about it are the see views. However it is not really worth the €2.50 entrance fee for minimal information inside
Went to Budva as part of a day trip from Dubrovnik, there wasn't s lot to see in the old town but if you're there the citadel is definitely worth a wander - great views and the library was a great escape from the heat.
Maybe I'd spent too much time in Dubrovnik, but the old town and citadel at Budva was not that impressive. If you in Montenegro, I recommend spending more time in Kotor if you're looking for historic battlements and a great view.
A small little fortress which contains great views of the bay and the beaches beside it. Has nice Maritime library on the second floor. Worth a visit.
We enjoyed our short visit to the old town which has retained much character, albiet on a rather small scale when compared with nearby Kotor. Unfortunately the increasing sprawling development of the new town contrasts sharply and has little to commend.
It was the first time I visited Budva Montenegro and filled my measure. Good beach (within what is Adriatica coast in this area), appealing and affordable restaurants with décor and cozy and romantic atmosphere. The old town is a charm.
It is nice to see Budva panorama. It cost only 2€ and you can also see some wood ship model scale. If you go to Budva, it is worth of visiting.
The Old town is quite a bit smaller than Kotor's old town, but it still has it's own charm. It was built in 840 AD and with a facelift and reinforcement in the 15th century it is still in very good shape. Neat little shops, restaurants and pubs to keep you occupied while enjoying the local history.
This old fort in the old town is worth visiting. It costs 2.50 euros per adult and inside there is a small museum room with models of famous ships and also a library room. The best for us though was walking around the old walls as the views back over the old town are stunning, some really good photo opportunities.
The citadel in Budva is the main historic attraction within the walls of the Old Town. It was built in 840 and added to over the years. It was reinforced in the 15th C when the town was under Venetian rule and again in 1836 when Austrian troops were stationed here. Entry is €2 and from the roof you have fine views across the city and out to St Nikolas Island in the Adriatic. On the roof you will find a café and some cannons. Here also you can start a walk of the city walls, through a turnstile which takes Euro coins. There's a small museum inside the citadel with mostly models of ships and a large library.
