At the end of our city tour we passed this tower and found a lively area with plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. Well maintained on one side, needs refurbishment on the other one.
I was impressed by the size of this church as it used to be the largest building in th city. The view from Bratislava's castle is also breathtaking towards this....
The view from the tower is quite nice allowing you to see a good part of the old town. The surroundings are also quite nice with plenty of historical buildings. The tower itself is very good as well as the weapon museum inside it. The ticket also allow you to visit a nearby pharmacy museum.
This impressive gate/tower is located a short walk from the Old Town & is navigated by old cobble streets packed full of shops & restaurants. There's a plaque at the foot of each former gate in the city but this gate is unique in that it's still standing today. We only saw the gate from the outside.
St. Michael's Tower dates back to the end of the 13th century. It is one of the oldest structures in the city. Read a blurb about it online or in a guidebook so that seeing it will actually mean something. Otherwise, it just looks like another clock tower. Take a look behind it to see the narrowest house in Slovakia (and I think, Europe). Give it 10 minutes of your trip and you'll be glad you did.
It was quite touristy, but the tower itself is very photogenic, and visible over rooftops when further away.
It's well worth a visit so take a camera and spend an hour wandering up and down the street. Very picturesque and full of history.
This is sort of the entrance to the old town, and makes for very nice pictures :) it had snowed the day before we arrived so it was pretty. There's lots of souvenir shops and bars etc on the street too so good day and night
The street and tower are beautifully historic, and a great place to spend some time. The tower itself contains the arms museum, which is worth a visit. The ticket is discounted with Bratislava City Card, and also provides access to the museum of pharmacy. The museum is small, but the views from the top of the tower are worth it.
Houses an arms museum and provides for excellent city views. Great for a short visit and worth recommending.
