Old downtown Plano has been upgraded over the last couple of years with more development being planned. With restaurants and shops it has become a nice destination when the weather is fair. Parking is much better than it used to be and that helps a lot.
Still in development, will be quite a destination spot. Holiday celebration is good. Several great restaurants with quaint shops.
If you want to window shop in neat stores or have a very good meal, Downtown Plano gives you a choice of several of both to choose from. From the Filmore Pub (first on the right, when walking up the hill) for Fish and Chips, to Kelly's East Side (at the top of the hill) for a Hickory Jalapeno Burger, there is a good variety of things to choose from. Won't go wrong with a visit. But don't think you will walk up to an establishment to eat at 7:30 or 8:00, because you will be waiting for a good meal then. Plan ahead for your favorites, or expect to come back several times to enjoy them all.
The downtown seems as if it is trying to become more lively. It's obvious there's new restaurants opening and it is trying, but they have nothing to reel people into the downtown area. Plano is such a HUGE suburb with so many people. I know almost no one that has even been down there and they don't see a reason to do so. It needs more revitalization because it just looks old and beat up, but not in an authentic, antique kind of way. It's kind of dirty and sad and many of the shops are empty.I was extremely disappointed by the lack of anything to do down there and even the amount of stores. I don't even see this as a downtown except for how the businesses are set up. It's kind of sad, especially when beautiful downtown McKinney is not far away..
A small, but good selection of bars/pubs. Relaxing & clean. Plenty of parking. Stores close early on weekends, so mostly did "window"shopping.
Historic Downtown Plano is an interesting area. We ate in a very cool pub. Really enjoyed it. Great place to just walk and explore the different restaurants and shops.
Historic Downtown Plano is a great place to work, shop, eat and relax! I've been doing it for decades and it's getting better all the time.
A very quaint downtown area with a lot of restaurants & now bars available for lunch, dinner, and other events with the DART train stop allowing for easy access to & from other areas of the metroplex.
There is a nice selection of places to and the one we selected was great. I don't remember the name of the eatery or even what we ate but you can't go wrong in historic downtown Plano
Downtown Plano is a great place to stroll and shop or have a bite to eat. There is a Dart rail close by for easy access.
