I have been to almost all of the courses around town and this stands out from the rest. The staff is incredibly friendly and the course is challenging. Everything about this course is excellent.
The course has water in its name which is appropriate! It is an excellent layout with many interesting holes.
Waterlefe Golf and Marina Club is very stiff and unfriendly. The staff needs training to help them understand that the customer is why they are there..... the customer pays their salary..... the staff there act as though they are doing you a favor to even turn in your direction? I do not recommend this establishment to anyone! The golf course on the other hand is very well laid out and very challenging..... slope of 138 so be prepared for your "A" game. Too bad you need the staff to get on they Golf Course! 1 star
Very nice course with beautiful and unique holes. The course winds around the Manatee river giving some of the holes wonderful vista. The course is well maintained and pace of play is very good. GPS system in carts was not very accurate and had to manually advance it in all of our carts.
This is a beautiful location. Nice property. There is also a club to lunch or dine it. When I have been there -- it has not been very busy. There is a lake in front of the Clubhouse where golfers are hitting golf balls into the lake -- by passing swimming sea birds. Interesting. Enjoy and relax.
This is a very difficult course for any player. Usually in good to very-good condition with plenty of places to "donate" your golf balls. (Don't come to the first tee with just one sleeve.) Par is a good score on just about any hole. Good luck!
Lots of water so bring plenty of golf balls. The greens were absolutely true. Great for all handicappers because there are 5 different tee boxes. Played a round in 4 hours. Nice. Loved the challenge. I am a 14 handicap.
- Friendly Staff- Range hits into the water (different)- Target golf with many hazards (including alligators!)- Beautiful layout with many scenic waterway holes- Excellent greens (fast) and conditioning throughout the course was excellent- Well worth the money for the green feees
We first went to Waterlefe when it first opened and always enjoyed the experience. However as it established itself it started to become more expensive and popular which go hand in hand!So we played elsewhere like Stoneybrook (close by) and The River Club. However we got a good value Tee Time off Paradise and played it again. It is a demanding course and the closing holes can hurt your scorecard but it is a real test of your game and ultimately very rewarding. They seem very friendly and the facilities are very good especially the Bar.Buggies have GPS which is also very useful. It's well worth it but maybe take an extra sleeve of balls!!As an aside it's also close to Ellenton Reatil Park if you want some some shopping therapy!
Was able to play this for $49, great deal for such a nice course. Lot of water on most holes, and in many cases it is not far from the fairways or greens. The course is in very good conditions, facilities are great, and the grounds are beautiful. The water, canals, houses, and vegetation are all very pretty and create a very visually pleasing experience. The course stands out from generic looking courses in the area. Because of the water it is a good challenge, there are some tough carries, long par 3's, and some very interesting hole layouts. I lost 11 balls! A personal record, I just couldn't keep the ball straight that day, and on this course that will spell disaster.
