After more commercial brewery experiences, this proved to be well worth the short walk from the center of town. Get Stephan from Brussels City Tours to take you.
Second time I was here, and it was allot better this time. The tour guide was so happy and informative that he gave us a smile. You can walk around the brewery by yourself, and afterwards you get to taste fresh lambic
Visiting Brussels and learning about the lambic history at Cantillon and Lindeman's via tours were amazing. Tasting a lot of the local beers to boot made the experience that much better. Makes you appreciate beer and the respect that comes with it! Cantillon was kinda kitchy, some parts of the tour were very touristy be that its a museum now so expect a lot of old, dusty facilities. The delicious beer tasting at the end was great. The place is hard to find, its off the beaten path from the main down town area. We ended up catching a ride with friends who dropped us off and we had stopped short a few blocks because the area is a bit shady looking and had turned around. Must visit though, worth it!!
What a delightful small brewery! It is any about a five minute walk from Gare du Midi and a cheap self guided tour is worth the €7. If you like learning about the history if the lambic style of brewing, this is a can't miss! If you don't like sours, skip the gueze tasting and perhaps try the kriek instead. Whenever I'm in Brussels, I make it a point to take a walk from the train station and stop in to buy a few bottles to bring back home. The neighborhood looks a little sketchy, but as long as you are smart and go during daylight, you'll be fine.
This incredible place is only a 5 minutes walk from Gare de Midi/ Zuid Station. The area is not that great but once you get inside you forget all about it. For 7 euros you get to see the brewery via a self guided tour and also get to taste the beer they make there. Geuze is divine, in my humble oppinion. So this place is really a must see. I definitely reccomend this place.
I came here with a group and we had a tour guide who was arrogant, rude and boring. He thought their beer was the end-all-be-all of beers and while I'm sure there are people who enjoy this beer he tried to act as if one didn't like their beer then they did not have a pallet for beer. The tour was long, boring and at the end you get a few samples of beer but it is the worst beer I've ever had. I would skip this and just head over to Delirium if you want to taste their beer. Skip the boring tour and the cocky tour guides.
its worth a visit but remember this is an old brewery with tourists coming by all the time.. -Yes they could do something more out of it but time is money here aswell.7€ for entrance and no tour guide. on the plus-side you get to walk around in the brewery all alone with no guards to watch you.. at end of the tour you get two tasters of the local Brew. We also enjoyed the cheese platter. well worth a visit but dont expect a Hollywood tour
Craft beer & " lambic beer" made in brussels, authentic place for a very interesting visit. Nice and kind People to talk to about beer and cheap price for a tour (visit + 2 beers to discover at the end of the visit).
This is one of oldest brewery in Brussels, Belgium. The tour of brewery wing is very good. Explanation of the tour guide in the brewery is good. They serve two types beer for tasting. I did not like the taste.
Did the tour for 1 1/2 hours which was informative and very interesting. Tried the lambic and some fruit beers. Loved the lambic!!
