Went for a Sunday drive to get out of the City for a few hours and headed for the Conservation area upon reading up on it. Pleasant enough drive after the highway if taking the Forks of the Credit River Rd-winding and picturesque. Parking lot was full at 1:30 pm and never reopened when we were there. We parked on the side of the road further into the village along with dozens of others and walked down the steep hill. Five dollars per person to get in is okay-I understand they need to upkeep the place. I feel there should be a reduced price for walk ins. Large field like area FILLED with families enjoying picnics. Short walk to the "cave"- a man made cement enclosure and small dammed waterfall with a wooden suspension bridge. Wooden/cement stairs to cave viewing area and beginning of trails are steep and many. Trails are short and not far from civilization so you never really get the feeling of "getting away". It was an interesting experience but I would not go back. Good for young families who have children who can walk on their own. Not really stroller friendly or good for seniors.
Belfountain conservation area is a nice place for picnic. Its a very small park with a waterfall and few trails. Everything can be covered within 1-2 hours. You have to pay an entrance fee of $5 per person. Parking is free but the parking area is small and its a challenge to find a parking spot. Overall its a good place to visit for couple of hours.
The park is small and one can cover the trails relatively quick and it's convenient since pathways are all loops. There are some unique elements to this park too; such as the bridge, the falls and the creepy little cave.
This place makes for a nice day trip from Toronto. Has a mini-waterfall and a hanging bridge across it that is very scenic and some beautiful trails and a fountain. A photography buff's heaven! Although it rained when we were there, the tree cover is thick and we were able to shelter under the trees until the rain died down. Also, there isa nice picnic area very close to the parking lots. Highly recommend - pack a picnic lunch and go for the day!
a little tricky to find but once your there it is a peace of shangrala waterfalls rivers and a fishing pond as well as park really pleasant place to visit fish or hike
Smallish but intimate atmosphere. Exclusive upmarket menu. Slightly more expensive. Parking available.
Its a nice soothing place to be viewed once. Good value for a lesser time trip. No foods no moods..... be prepared for excursions. .... rated above average
Interesting trails along the river and round the conservation area, though they can be a bit uneven/rocky in places and involve a few flights of wooden stairs, so wear appropriate footwear and expect a bit of a hike. The fountain and surrounding area is very well tended and has lots of excellent photo opportunities, the "cave" and suspension bridge are cool in a kind of quirky way.Picnic area looks well planned out and was in full use.The $5 is reasonable as they obviously have a lot of maintenance work to do, and you can use that same entry token to go to any of the other conservation areas in the area the same day.Just down the road from here are the Cheltenham Badlands, well worth a stop off on your way past.
This is a nice park / conservation area north of Mississauga. It features a shallow pond, man-made waterfall, suspension bridge, a man-made cave and small pathway going around the entire area. If you plan to stay a while for a picnic or afternoon in the area then it can be worth the price of admission, if you just wanted to see it is rather expensive as you can see everything in well under an hour. If you did want to see this and not spend much time there plan to take advantage of the entry fee paid at any of the credit valley conservation areas allowing you access to all of the credit valley conservation areas for the day.
We love going for hikes and taking the Trimble Trail. The beautiful untouched nature of the area is so peaceful. The waterfall there looks so powerful. You could spent the whole day here enjoying nature!
