Just came back from a visit to the farm today. It was our first time there, and for a family of 4, it costs us a total of $40 and that does not include the food we bought and the fruits and vegetables we picked. The employees were ok, some seem to be trying real hard to be helpful and then there was this old lady wearing pink. She had a very horrible attitude, yelled at my 3 year old when he ran to fast to the play area as he was too excited to try toys. And then, she closes the stand where you pay to enter the play area an hour before the actual places closes and I watched as she humiliated another family, by rudely telling them that each person needed to pay, well obviously, how could they have paid if she closed the stand to pay too early! Their little boy started crying as the old lady scared him! We picked raspberries, it was $3/person to pick and then $3.90/pnd, the entrance fee was deducted at the end. Their raspberry season just started a few days before, but their plants were all dried raspberries and bug infested! We came home covered in bug bites! The peas were $1.40/pnd, small little patch. bathrooms were porta potties--DISGUSTING! 2 of the stalls did not even have any tissue paper in them! and we came on a weekday and the farm was empty! They can't even keep it fully stocked!A pound of fudge, which looked awfully dry was for $14!!! I know of a farm in stoneridge, ON that sells their homemade fudge for $7/pound with better varieties! There are a lot of other PYO farms in the GTA that are better, cleaner and cheaper than this one.

Downey's farm is a nice little place for families and children. We visited this place along with a couple of our friends during the pumpkinfest last year 2014. They have a small area where they sell wines and do wine tasting too - not known to lots of people who visit this place. We enjoyed our time out at the farm with pumpkins all over the place, children running helter skelter, people shopping, etc etc.

Great fruit, vegetables, baked goods and preserves. There is a terrific play area for children. We have been going to Downey's for over 20 years and enjoy their selection. Now that fresh local corn is out, we stop by quite often.

Dropped by today to downeys. The baked goods were overpriced but we actually came to check out the wines. Waited for someone to come over to wine section and no one came. The staff seem very disinterested. We got the attention of one of the staff and still no one bothered to wait on us. We waited 25 mins and no one bothered to assist us. There were other customers and they got fed up and left. We finally left too. Dont waste your time.

This is is expensive and not much to do. Went there for the Easter Hung and paid $12/person (including my 2 year old). It was alright.

We went to Downey's with our three granddaughters aged 15, 11 & 3 last weekend. Our youngest one loved it and goes often with her mom but the other two found it boring and hot.. They charged us $35.00 to get in for the five of us not including any food we bought (you can't even bring in water) and the sandbox was infested with mosquitos and bugs. It had old, worn out toys in it that are not meant for a sandbox but there wasn't much for a 3 year old to do there other than pet the animals. What happened to buckets and shovels. What is an old FP kitchen set doing in there?? That was the only shade around. The store was quite nice and had good offerings but other than that forget it! At least you can visit the store only for free! They should really think about either lowering the price or maintaning the property better. More shade and places to sit for adults near the kids stuff would be nice.

The animals are neglected and not cared for properly. The attractions..boring, the grounds are swampy and the climbing areas are dirty. Not worth 12bucks a person.

I suppose when Downey's started it was a very different place. After years of being located just north of Brampton, they have ended up with signs everywhere advising of just what their rules are. No this, no that, c'mon it's a farm. From my most recent visit I really took issue with two things, albeit had I spent more time there perhaps I would had more issues.a) Entrance fee to enter the strawberry patch. Really? Are you kidding me? Not only do you upset people causing lines TWICE once to pay admission and again to pay for your strawberries but if you go with a larger group you HAVE to pick a certain amount to just break even. I find this unfair and draconian.b) Wrist band policy to enter the area with the petting zoo. Really? Are you kidding me? This really should be a value add and a reason for me to go to the farm. We didn't even go inside the barn to their store, after all, they may have charged us all a dollar to get in. Just wait, next year they may charge for parking!I understand that given it's location and people looking for freebees they have had to change some policies, but if you want to keep people away perhaps increase your cost per pound of strawberries a little and then cut the nonsense.I would not recommend this place, I would keep driving and selecting another farm which won't gauge you every step of the way.

Arrived late - our fault. Around 3.30pm, were told at the ticket window we had until 5pm. Wow, I thought -we better get moving to all the attractions or we won't have enough time. Oh, the admission was $12 a person - it didn't mattet one of them was 7. We found out later the same was the case with even the smallest kids. First bad impression - really?? In we go. First was the wagon ride. Where is it taking us, I asked? Some sights along the way, somewhere fun maybe? Nope. Just around a wet corn field we went. Yay.Then was the hay stack for kids. Nothing much more than a glorified play pen. Made of hay. Made for 5 minutes of walking around.On we go. To the slide. While picking our way through a muddy field. Not their fault, really, but it definitely did nothing to improve things. On the wau there we noticed the "egg hunt" taking place. Exactly as one previous reviewer described - a whole bunch of pladtic eggs thrown out in the open, more muddy than grassy field. Yay again - so sorry we had missed it.The slide was nothing to write home about. Our daughter went once and was not intetested to repeat it. Then a pkayground style pirate ship. 5min., tops. Of we went back to main barn area. Picking our way through the muddy grass. Saw a few lambs, goats, and a cow. All in little pens. 2min., maybe.Then on to the fun part - egg painting! Again, as per previous description - styrofoam egg, with some stickers and a few markers scattered all over the place (mostly floor). Exciting. Again. Nothing that could be done in a home environment, it took a farm to get the experience - definitely. That's all there was. For 36 bucks. Just over an hour. We went into the store too, everything looked great and was no doubt tasty, but grossly overpriced - in my opinion. $8 for a skinny tall jar of pasta sauce?? Really? Double the price for half the size. Mmkay. My wife bought two small jars of jam and little chocolate bunnies on sticks - kind of lollipops. 20 bucks. I hear the fall version is better, with the corn maze, pumpkins, mini-putt golf and generally drier and nicer weather.I doubt I will want to find out. What a rip off. 6, 8 bucks a person - maybe. But 12?? Each, including even little kids? Come on, Downey's farm. That's just greedy. I wonder if the extra revenue was worth losing all the people who won't return.I know I won't.

$30 for 2 pumpkins bought at Downey Farms 12 days before halloween. Both pumpkins are now rotten (1 day before halloween). Needless to say, I can't carve these with my daughter. I went to Loblaws Superstore and bought a replacement pumpkin the same size for $2.48. Just to note, $45 admission for 2 adults and 1 child. One pumpkin, therefore, cost me $77.48.
