Enjoyed dinner of lasagna and summer red wine. Sat on the patio overlooking the lake. Nice dinner on a Saturday night.
The atmosphere is great, the food is wonderful, it's a nice place to go and relax. The view of the water is very peaceful. I will go back.
The location is beautiful to sit outside and listen to live music. At the time Hidden Lakes Winery did not serve beer,(I hear that has since changed) and that was frustrating because I am a wine drinker and my husband is not. The food was not of high quality but I was there for the atmosphere and the wine. We will return if in fact that have added beer to their menu
This place is beautiful. I thought I was dreaming at first beacuase the place was so nice. Then the nightmare began. First thing I thought was strange was all the flyers taped to the windows and doors however, it was totally in line with what else was to come at this place. My party was seated and we still talked about the great views. Then we talked about seven or eight subjects until finally we had our orders taken. After another long wait the beauty was no longer the subject anymore. Finally some food started to show up unfortunately. Caesar salad is not made with iceburg lettuce. The menu says pita chips, tortilla chips are not the same. The food was crap. The yard crew was weed eating at lunch time right by the windows. I would go for a photo op and nothing else.
I liked the out of the way serenity of this location. Nice little place to entertain a small group of friends, cozy and peaceful. Even if you don't like wine, you may love the wine slushies.
Hidden Lakes Winery is located in Canal Winchester, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus, Ohio. The setting is rustic and comfortable. The wait staff is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The wines are made on-site, as is the food! The Appetizers are a bit unique and a delicious way to begin your evening. The pizza is also very good, and the sandwiches are good sized, and the lasagna has a nice balance of flavors. This last visit was my third, and I will be returning! If you find yourself in the area, drop in for a glass of wine, and some delicious eats!Their website is http://www.hiddenlakeswinery.com/.
Visited HLW with a coupon. The restaurant was full and we were seated at a high-top near the entrance. After waiting almost a half-hour for some service, we snagged an apologetic hostess. In summary, the food was horrible and the wine was undrinkable. Stay away, no matter what the coupon offers.
I visited this winery in June 2010. Made reservations for 15, ended up being 20. Met for wine and had a light dinner. Everything went great.Decided to go back this year. Made reservations for 15 people 2 weeks in advance. Spoke with someone the next day to confirm the reservations and she stated, "I think you need to pre-order. I will verify and call you back." NEVER received a call back. I placed a call to the winery 3 days before my reservations and was told I had to pre-order from a CATERING menu. I informed SANDY that I had never been told that, and this was not the case the year before. She insisted I order from the catering menu, although everyone would be ordering different items and paying separately. I informed her no one had advised me of that. And her response "well they should have." She continuously talked over me and cut me off. I told her to cancel my reservations and she hung up on me!! I was left searching for a new place to have dinner 3 days before the actual date. Luckily I called another establishment and they were more than willing to assist.I will NEVER visit this winery again.
We loved the winery and would totally go there again. We were a bit disappointed that since it was winter there was no view of the lake. I am sure it would be even better if we had gone in the spring!
Hidden Lakes Winery is tucked away off of Route 33 (near Gender Road). The atmosphere is nice as it is set on a man-made pond with a foutain and a log cabin type of interior. The wine selection is good and the food is average. Would love to see more the menu to improve as I think this place as great potential. Prices are a little on the high side for food.
