Nothing fabulous about this place but it's close by and does have many slots which is what I enjoy. It's too smokey though and sometimes you have to wait a long time for a drink at the bar although last time I was there - they were taking drink orders on the floor which is a nice touch. Don't know if they always do that as I only visit about 1 every couple months.
Great location to include in your trip to Duluth/superior. About 23 miles sw of Duluth. Great Buffet and friendly staff. Easy on and off the interstate. Easy parking. Fun slots.
Almost always stop at Black Bear on our way up north. Nice break from driving. Casino is in good location right off I35. Buffet is same as every other casino buffet. Seven fires is nice for a date night. Rooms are nice and are inexpensive.
Came for a concert and we came early to gamble a bit. When we tried to get drinks at the bar, they only had one bartender and the line went way back into the casino. We skipped it there and went to the concert. After two beers, they ran out! Ran out of beer at a concert! Never again...
Casino is a favorite. They do a nice job of keeping the air as fresh as possible with all the smoking there is at the Casino
The hotel staff is very friendly and it is a nice and clean hotel. There is an arcade and pool for families and there is a casino for those who like to place a bet. The buffet restaurant had great food at a very reasonable price and the bed in the room was very comfortable.
Its a casino. You go there to gamble.. So win or loose make the most of it. Friendly staff. Smokey, very smokey ! Could use more ventilation. Dont hear a lot of ringing going on from winning machines.... Drink carts are few and far between. Some nights I dont think they are even there. Yes, drinks are pricey... but once again... its the casino. Also, NO restaurants after 9 !! just a little snack bar.
I like this casino, it's bright and plenty of room so the machines aren't all crammed together. Lots of different fun machines to play. I won't say it's great on payouts as I think that really depends on the player. $20 can last quite awhile on the penny machines but on the other hand if you like to bet bigger, well your $20 could be gone in a flash just like other casinos. The bar is OK for getting a drink but bartenders don't seem too friendly but that's not really a problem. The Cobalt nightclub is a nice place to listen to bands on the weekend, for free, and is a nice break place from playing the machines!
Liked it all. Nothing to complain about. Good food. Nice room. Comfortable beds. Close to shopping if that's something you want to do
The casino is basically one big open square with no interior walls, which I think leaves something to be desired. Other casinos have different rooms / spaces which each have their own unique character or theme. There is a good selection of slots and they have blackjack and a small poker room. The buffet is always very busy. It's not particularly big, but I have always found multiple things that I have enjoyed. Nothing spectacular, but you won't leave hungry. The best thing about this casino is the comps. Hands down they have the best comps of any casinos in Minnesota.
