Some really nice pieces of painting, sculpture and artifacts. A few that I didn't consider art but a great way to spend a rainy morning. Beautiful building.
This western art museum has it all! Fabulous sculpture, paintings, photos, wagon trains, special exhibits etc. we joined because you cannot take it all in with one visit. My fave? White paper sculpture scenes scattered throughout. Simply fascinating! Also the kids have an area downstairs to play cowboy. Go!
Loved the presidents section and the civil war paintings, could have spent several more hours in both area's, i will return.
It is a lot better than you would expect, especially in a small town.Cartersville is a nice small town and close to Atlanta and only 1 1/2hr from Chattanooga.
Even if this type of art is not your thing, this is a gorgeous museum and is a must see before or after lunch in downtown Cartersville. By the time you're through this museum, you will fully appreciate the art as well.
We love taking "newbies" to this world-class museum. Always enough changes to remain high interest for repeat visitors.
What a nice collection of western art. Absolutely loved all of the sculptures. The building itself is very well done. Plenty of benches throughout to sit and take a break. The presentation and lighting is also first class. All of this for only ten dollars. Will definitely make more visits to this place.
Awesome place to see unique art works, even ones from local artists. Staff is friendly and makes visit even more worthwhile. Great place to visit!!
We saw this museum on Georgia Traveler and wanted to go next time we were in Atlanta visiting family. You wouldn't expect this out in the middle of nowhere in the South, but there it was! We could have spent more time there, but had to head back to Savannah. It was one of the best museums I have been to in a long time and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Lots of surprises tucked in here as well. We would go back for sure.
nice art, large quiet venue. very informative displays. plenty of parking at the side of the building.
