When we arrived mid-afternoon it was so crowded we had to park across the street because this was Dollar Day. Apparently every September they have what they call Dollar Day on a Saturday and almost everything is only $1.00; the exception being the zip-line and horseback rides which are about 1/2 off. Great prices but long lines and wait times, but none-the-less I was impressed at how patient the staff was and how they did not seem to shorten the ride times. I think regular prices are $4.00 or 10 for $35 which is still a pretty good price.A long scenic chairlift ride takes you to the top of the mountain where you can just return down again or do the Alpine Slide or Zip-line. The Alpine Slide was fun and the Zip-line was really long and a neat experience. Other things we did were go-carts, bumper cars, and bumper boats. Other things they had that we did not do were a rock-climbing wall, bungee/trampoline jump, miniature golf, or the cave tour, but that was only because of the long lines because of Dollar Day.. It was too also too crowded on Dollar Day to do go horseback riding so we returned the next day to do that.... I'll review that under Jesse James Stables, but it was very good. This is not Six Flags or Disney World but it is a lot of reasonably priced old fashioned family fun. I'm really glad we decided to stop here this year and we'll definitely be back again and look forward to doing the miniature golf and cave tour. If you decide to go on Dollar Day I'd try to get there as soon as they open to avoid some of the lines.
We stayed in Cave City just because the kids really wanted to ride the alpine slide. It was in the middle of our trip so we stayed a night there, only to find out that they are only open on the weekends. The website and their sign on the building said 7 days a week so we didn't call ahead. We should have. I am sure it would have been great fun but maybe next time.
Fun for ALL. 3 young married couples made awesome memories horseback riding, zip lining, chair lift with beautiful views of Kentucky leading to a gorgeous ride down the alpine slide. As well as a western photo shoot, mini - golf, gift shop and more!
If you expect Disney or Dollywood keep on driving but if you can lower your expectations and go with the flow this place is fun. The staff is 100% local brash rednecks. Nice folks but their people skills have not been developed. The rides are showing their age but still fun. The alpine slide is great. Bumper boats and bumper cars - fun. They have a go carts, mini golf, and a zip line. I'd say kids between 7-14 would have alot of fun. Older kids would have fun but get bored quickly... so just buy them tickets. Go with the all you can ride bands for the younger kids if you have some time to burn.
I went to this place on a class field trip with my daughter's class. It is very small, with only a few attractions. The employees, especially the guys running the go cart ride, were rude and disrespectful. The chair lift is a tragic accident waiting to happen, because the bar that comes down across your lap doesn't lock shut. I agree with what another reviewer said-the place appears to not have had any maintenance or upkeep done in many years. Cave City is chock full of tourist traps waiting to snatch your hard earned dollars from you, but this one takes the cake at the worst one of them all.
If you're looking to create a few memorable moments with your family, I'd recommend stopping here for a few hours. The Alpine Slide is super fun for kids and adults alike. The zip line is expensive, but it's expensive everywhere. The nice thing about the zip line here is that they allow tandem rides that allow younger kids to go with their parents and they have a twin line so two members of your family can go down at the same time. The go karts, bumper cars, bumper boats, etc... are mostly falling apart and out of date, but still loads of fun.
Went with my family and relatives with 5 children combined after first plans fell through. The bumper cars, go carts, bumper boats, mini golf, and alpine slide with chair lift were all enjoyable. The staff were attentive and courteous and ended the day with the cave tour fun and informative. For the money a great way to spend a long weekend day.
We went on a weekday and there was no line. Our kids will remember the Alpine Slide the rest of their life. We bought the ticket for multiple rides and they enjoyed going down the mountain a number of times as well as riding the other rides, mini golf etc. The zip line would be extra. The staff was very friendly. We recommend arriving a little after opening time. They weren't ready to open on time. If I remember correctly, have cash for the soda vending machine, or bring water bottles.
They have all the things that check kid's lists....ours did the zip line, alpine slide, and played miniature golf all for what we considered a reasonable charge. I think it is the best attraction for kids of all ages in Cave City...our kids loved it and had a lot of fun.
Great park, multiple activities, great value for the price, $25 all day wristband, discounts on zip line and horseback riding. Horses well cared for. Wonderful staff. Grandkids enjoyed it immensely. We will make this an annual visit at least.
