Hello,Thank you for taking the time to review Seven Springs on TripAdvisor! I'm glad you were able to come across the mountain and visit Seven Springs on your trip to Hidden Valley. While it does tend to be a little bit busier here, the mountain is much larger and offers more terrain than at Hidden Valley. The two resorts definitely compliment each other perfectly.Hope to see you back soon!Zach CostelnockDigital Customer Service and Analytics Manager
Hello,Thank you for taking the time to review Seven Springs on TripAdvisor! It certainly has been a great winter so far especially with the limited amount of natural snow we have received. Our Mountain Crew has done an amazing job preparing the slopes each and every day and mother nature is finally treating us better so far this month.Hope to see you back on the mountain soon!Zach CostelnockDigital Customer Service and Analytics Manager
I'm a former ski instructor and daughter of two ski patrollers. I've skied in 8 states and 2 foreign countries, so I've seen a lot of ski areas. I want to like Seven Springs. I really do. It's the biggest ski area close to our PGH home and it has some good skiing, but I'd rather drive to NY and ski another area. (HV) Why??1. Friday is now considered the weekend and the ticket is priced accordingly.2. $77 for a lift ticket. Really?? 3. For that price, it would be nice to have clean Porta-Potties at the North Face parking lot. (or better yet, take some of the money you're raking in a make a lodge there with real toilets.) Two years in a row I have been totally grossed out by overflowing "facilities."4. How about making people who bring their own food feel welcome?? Other areas (HV)welcome picnic baskets. There are a lot of reasons why people want to bring their own food(allergies, health, money). Don't make them feel like second class citizens by relegating them to a dark back room.5. How about more patrollers and courtesy patrols? Other areas do a better job a managing the traffic on the lifts and watching for out-of-control (sometimes drunk) skiers.6. Grooming... other places do it better.7. Other places have more cubbies instead of lockers, and you feel safe leaving your items unattendedBecause it's close, my family will still continue to ski a day or two each season at Seven Springs. But we'll be wishing we were in NY at HV!
After hearing many reviews, I decided to finally ski "THE Pittsburgh Ski Resort".....tips up....don't waste your money and by the way you will need a lot of it!March 6, a cold clear day, thought it would be a great idea to get there first thing in the morning and enjoy a full day on the snow. The parking is a horrible walk to the lifts. Of the nine lifts only FOUR were in operation, but I did not get a discount on my over-priced ticket. Snow conditions were fair, the powder from the day before had been groomed down and frozen. I have skied all the resorts within a 3 hour drive from Pittsburgh and this one by far is the worst and the most expensive. I will not be returning!!!

The snowmaking and grooming has really gone downhill since the Nutting family has taken over. They seem to be more interested in terrain parks and "Superpipes". A lot of good ski terrain has been taken up by these parks and from what I could tell the percentage of skiers/boarders using the parks wasn't very high. I'm not saying you need to eliminate these areas but enough is enough. How about cutting some new slopes/trails, how about a new lift? Management should reevaluate where their resources are used. As a "regular" skier who has been going to 7 Springs for over 30 years how about adding something that might appeal to me!!
