We've been the Chanhassen about three times and have always had a first class meal and a wonderful theater production. Call ahead to fine out what shows are being offered. They have more than one production at a time. You will want to sit in the middle of the room for the best view of the stage although I don't remember there being any poor seats. All shows have an intermission so that you can order a dessert (heavenly). This is a great way to top off a trip.
The shows are wonderful, We have gone many times. All the seats are great. The menu has improved greatly over the last few years. We loved "Hello Dolly", and plan on taking our entire family to "Mary Poppins."
We try to go to every show and always amazed at the excellent performances. The food is quite good considering how many people they are serving at once! Love the Chanhassen Chicken! We also enjoy Brindisi's pub at the theater - especially in the summer on the patio
I always love taking the family for an evening at the CDT. Really great value as we get dinner and a really good show! Keep it up!
I brought two visitors from Asia to the show tonight. From our arrival to our exit, we smiled, laughed and shared a side of us that we just don't share during business. Thank you staff and actors! Beautiful show and the food was delightful! Will come back!
My husband and I went to a show on a Friday night. It was a blast. The food was excellent and the service was great. The seating was so close to the comedians that I felt like I was up close and personal. It was funny, appropriate, and an overall great evening.
We went to the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre for our 20th anniversary. The food and service was perfect. What a beautiful setting, nice cozy bar with a lovely fireplace. Great bartender. Food was fantastic, my wife's wild rice stuffed chicken beast was wonderful, my steak was one of the best ever, great drinks, cheese curds for an appetizer were perfect. Some of the BEST service we've ever had!! The Stevie Ray comedy show was hilarious. We even got brought up on stage for part of the show, glad we could also make some people laugh. We will most certainly return, only had one complaint. Several tables in our are also complained about how COLD it was, nothing got done, we almost left at intermission, glad we didn't, but I really see no need for AC when the temp is sub-zero up here in Minnesota.
We enjoyed seeing "Hello, Dolly!". The performance was wonderful. The staff did a fair job but had some problems with some guest so created some struggles for others. I don't believe it was all their fault. The food is average. We ordered the chicken and found it to be on the dry side. One guest at our table ordered the Prime Rib (extra charge) and said it was delicious.Great night, watching a great show.
I have been attending the Chanhassen Dinner Theater in Chanhassen MN for over 25 years now.The other night I went to Hello Dolly, which I think was the best of so many excellent plays that I've seen there over the years. Michelle Barber and Keth Rice were FANTASTIC. The play is only on until the end of February, but if you can see it - go for it. If you are in the Twin Cities area and are looking for a terrific night out I would suggest Chanhassen Dinner Theater. Their food is good (you probably can find better if you are going to high end, much more expensive restaurant - but you won't have the marvelous theater), I'd probably give it a 3+ to 4 on a 5 point scale. But the theater!!! They add their own brand to the plays they are doing, which makes them the best plays around. You can't miss going here!
The improv comedy at this place is as good as anything I've seen on TV and in places like L.A. and Chicago. Very professional and VERY FAMILY FRIENDLY. They keep it clean, but are still hilarious. Highly recommended!!!
