We have heard of Tacky Jacks and decided to visit on vacation. The atmosphere was great and our waiter was amazing. We are not a sea food family but I can tell you the burgers were very good. We will be back.
My husband found this place while searching online. When we arrived, we thought google maps had gotten us lost...it's a little behind the "busy" area. The crab cakes are the best we've ever had...and my husband got a crawfish po'boy that was literally overflowing with so much crawfish he could barely eat the bread haha! We also had the smoked tuna appetizer that comes with toasted bread...AMAZING!! The view alone is worth checking this place out. We felt like it was mostly locals (granted, we did go in October which is the "off season") while we were there, but we think the summertime would be out of control as it has several layers to the building and would be a fun hang out place to eat and drink.
There are four Tacky Jack locations: Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, Fort Morgan, and Mobile Bay. Orange Beach is my favorite location. I love the water front dining on the bay. I love the big deck with the bar. Be prepared to wait though!
Ate here for a late lunch recently and we got in and seated right away. Enjoyed the view from our table overlooking the water, while waiting for our food. The margaritas were not up to our standards and I know there is room for improvement there. The food was good and we will be back!
We planned to stop here on our way to Panama City Beach mainly because my son loves the gator bites they serve. But be ready to wait even when tables are available we were told the kitchen had collapsed due to the amount of people. Prices are not the best though. Service is friendly. I also did not see wheelchair access.
Very casual, excellent food! Kinda crowded during busy season, but very well worth it!! Over looks the gulf and a bay, get to watch all sorts of private vessels coming in and going out to sea! Enjoyable!
Our family ate at tacky jacks after our daughters wedding. We were extremely disappointed in the food. Was not very good and very little servings for the price.
Having visited the Fort Morgan Tacky Jacks which we found woefully lacking in atmosphere and service and the Gulf Shores Tacky Jacks which had a wonderful location, great food and outstanding service we decided to try the Orange Beach location. We arrived around 11:00 am on a Sunday morning and were seated immediately. Our server promptly took our drink order. After that the service greatly declined. I ordered the fish dinner and my wife ordered the shrimp and oyster combination. Our server kept telling us that our order would be up shortly but it was at least 45 minutes before our food arrived. All of the items were very salty and basically had the same flavor. We definitely will not return even though the restaurant has a nice on the water location.
My boyfriend and I went twice during our trip. Once at night and then for breakfast. The food was not horrible but pretty bland. The best part of this place is the view.
Tourist trap at best. Inside of restaurant smelled like a toilet bowl. Food was subpar, costly and service was lacking. Very disappointed. Do not recommend AT ALL.
