Very nice folks let you taste their various wines, sherries and ports, all of which are for sale at very decent prices. The gift store is full of cute and funny gifts. Sit out on the veranda while sipping your wine. The view is very pleasant.
If you're looking for a day trip or just driving through this is a neat place to stop. The owners were very friendly and passionate about what they do. When we walked in they offered us free tastings of all of their wines and gave us some history about the business. We ended up purchasing two bottles and enjoyed our time their.
The people were really nice, wine was good and out back they have a Koi Pond with a goose and wood ducks. Cute gift shop. Worth the stop, nothing like buying local. We were staying at Manatee Springs Campground which we enjoyed. I wasn't far from it.
This winery is great. They have a very nice atmosphere, gift shop and picnc tables. The wine wine is very good thee is something for everyone.
Not only are the wines great, but there are wood ducks and koi, every wine gadget imaginable, oils, etc. The most memorable part, however, was being regaled with Dr. Max Rittgers' stories about grapes, South Dakota, Wisconsin, travel in general. He was so interesting! And did I mention great wines?!?
This small winery in Chiefland, FL is hidden gem set on a beautiful piece of property well worth the drive. As I pulled up the driveway it was evident that they take pride in their facility as it was very clean, decorated to fit with the theme and it felt very genuine. Walking in the front door I was immediately greeted by an employee with excellent customer service skills who gave me some brief directions and allowed me to do my own thing. After looking at their grounds, and checking out the sales floor I was able to try some of their amazing wines which to my surprise was free. So many other wineries charge you to see if you want to buy their product. The samples sizes are perfect for determining what you really like and want to buy, and the prices are excellent. Make sure to try their Blueberry wine! They have a great selection of wine bottle holders, other wine related products, and many jellies and sauces. The beautiful ducks and property out back round out an excellent experience. I really enjoyed my time, and the atmosphere of the whole facility. Highly recommend for the traveling wine lover.
As I do make it to Chiefland once a year, I always go to the Dakotah Winery to get at least a gal. of grape seed oil and a gal. of port wine. The grape seed oil is so good to use in my cooking and to know that the oil is good for my health......the port wine is very light, but pleasant.Rob and his father are some good down to earth people that really make you feel welcomed when you come into their store.Enjoy the wine and relax in Chiefland...."J"PS..read the other reviews on this page....
We stopped by on Thanksgiving weekend when we camped in Trenton. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit! In addition to being a winery, the owners incubate and raise wood ducks. The scenery is great and the wine tastes great!
Found this small winery in chiefland Florida. Cute giftshop with a lot of wine products. We decided to do the wine tasting which was a great experience. The man was very knowledgeable and had us laughing. We really liked the blueberry and Carlos wine. What a great place for a girl's visit. There were not that many ducks in the pond a few babies. The koi's were huge and fat.
Stop by on our way home from a long weekend. Was greeted by smiles, wine and antiques. Sampled all their wines which I wanted to buy all of but settled for 3 bottles. Gotta go back for the rest! Great accessories too. If you like wine or decorate in a vineyard or wine kinda way this pace is your honey hole!
