Hi Rhonda - we’re glad you had a fun day at Aquatica, but are sorry that you were disappointed with the food service. We do, however, appreciate your feedback and will share your comments with the appropriate members of our team. Our goal is to provide a great experience at Aquatica for all of our guests, and visitor feedback is important to us.
We took advantage of our 5-day Go Card San Diego and checked out Aquatica on day 4. My husband, boys (10 & 13), and I wanted to do something more active than visiting amusement park or zoo. We decided on Aquatica and had a blast. We especially enjoyed the Tassie's Twister and Wahalla's Wave because the whole family can ride together. The wave pool and the lazy river were fun too. My tip is to arrive to the park early so you can secure some chairs with shade. We got lucky and found some shaded chairs in the wave pool area.
Went to Aquatica Orlando last summer and really enjoyed it so we thought we'd try the Aquatica in SD! A few less slides compared to Orlando but still a great time. The slides were a blast and the wait time in line was very reasonable. Seemed to have more locals than out of town visitors but they were polite and no issues. I thought the all you can eat lunch was not worth the price. Quality if the food was mediocre. But we were there for the slides and they did not disappoint. I would go back for sure!
The park is not as big as the Orlando Aquatica. However we had a really fun day. The rides are really good and the atmosphere is quite chilled. Luckily the park was quiet as all the local children had gone back to school.
Now owned by Seaworld, Aquatica offers a whole range of water slides, wave pools, raft rides for all the family - and don't let it's location put you off. We were staying in San Diego with no car, but all it took was a Very easy tram ride on the blue line to Palomar Street. Jump off the tram and into a taxi (they're waiting in the car park next to the platform) and we were dropped off at the door. We even asked the cab driver to come back and pick us up at a pre- arranged time. Really easy, 45 mins from our city centre hotel to the park - and a really great day
The kids have a blast at this water park. Just bring some food & drinks with you as there are no stores in the near vicinity.
after going to the aquatica in orlando a couple of times we were really looking forard to this, well what a difference. The rides themselves were ok but badly organised so expect long waits and the food is predictable but my main complaint is the lack of available shade and how close they pack the sun loungers. We arrived at 10.15 with the park opening at 10.00 and by the time we got in there was no avaiable seating with any shade, people were already setting up in the eating areas to get some shade.I would think that only 15-20% of the seating had any shade and that was so tightly packed that people could not move their loungers at all.Overall not impressed and left after 4 hours as kids were getting burnt
My family and I live in the area, so we've been coming here for years. We always purchase the annual pass which is a great deal. Sea World has now taken over and they have made some wonderful additions. I would suggest maybe having more areas with shade as it gets super hot. Other than that, we always have a great time. Oh and employee Dylan is the friendliest and the best. Thanks!
Visited Aquatica in the summer during the week which was great because we didn't wait in long lines. We had no trouble finding a place to lay out in the sun. Lots of lounge chairs available around the wave pool. We were able to exit and re enter the park which was nice because we were able to go out into the parking lot and have a meal. Overall, everyone was very friendly and I would definitely visit again!
Took advantage of visiting this water park as part of our Sea World ticket package, so as value for money, I’d say yes but wouldn’t like to pay the full admission just for this park. Not too many main slides so queues were fairly long which was a problem when you had to stand in the full sun waiting. Another problem is that you are not allowed foot ware on the slides so you have to walk on burning hot concrete to get around the park. Did enjoy the park but probably would not go back, think there are better water parks out there.
