This was our first time wine tasting and we made that known when we arrived. We were the only ones there at the time so they spent some time with us answering questions and walking us through the tasting. Very impressed with the facility and of course the wine! If you have never wine tasted or are new to wine period, I highly recommend this place because they will help you zero in on your likes and dislikes in wine.
last year we added the state of Michigan to our local vacation getaways and I did not get the chance to visit one of many wineries in this state. This year, on our way to The Chocolate Garden, we stopped at the Contessa. They actually had closed a half our earlier but I asked my husband to go in and ask if we could come in since I have been trying to get to a winery for a while. He graciously agreed to let us come in. I don't know if he was the owner or manager but he complied and boy was he the nicest and most patient guy. I'm sorry I don't remember his name. The wine was so reasonably priced. He was nice to my 2 teenaged sons. This is a little farther out from where we will be staying when we visit Michigan but the drive is worth it and we will return. Please visit this charming place. I guarantee you will love it!
The tasting rom was small, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. Tre Tenors and Divine were our favorites. Beautiful 3 tier deck overlooking the vineyards.
If you are in SW Michigan and love wine you have to venture to Coloma. I love wine tasting. Some of my favorite wines I tasted were: Dolce Vita, Celeste, Divino, Blanco Bello, and Rosa d’amore. The property is beautiful and the building is really stunning.
Although we didn't particilarily LOVE all the wines there were a few gems, and many of the wines have won many medals at different competitions. The building is very clean and smells good. There's a large patio deck with a wonderful view to enjoy a glass of wine.We weren't searching for a fruit wine but knew the area had A LOT of them. So for our laste tastsing we got a Cherry wine. The owner/winemaker paired it with a piece of dark chocolate sea salt toffee bar from the VIntage Gourmet chocolate/candy store just next door (I think that was their name). AMAZING. Best pairing of a food and wine. We snagged a bottle and headed to the chocolate shop for a chocolate bar to go with it.
Has a great outside deck, when the weather is Google you can't beat it. Good wines, has a very good red but pricey. No inside seating!
Small tasting room. Expected better explanation of wines and what's favored. Pretty scenery and close to Chocolate Garden
We were very pleased with out experience here. Wine was quite good and staff were helpful and friendly. Their aged raspberry cordial was delicious! Wine is reasonably priced and tasting room is very beautiful with lots of interesting artwork and jewelry to look at. We visited in winter, but they also have a three level outside deck which would be fun to sit out on in the better weather. Will be stopping again in the future!!!!
Decided to try this winery along with other attractions in this area (chocolate shops, orchard). The view from the tasting room is beautiful and the wines were very good. We bought a bottle each of Dolce Vita and Blueberry. We each tried seven of the wines (all good) and the tasting fee is waived when you buy a bottle of wine. The wine is reasonably priced and I was enjoying the pleasant taste all the way home! We also visited the Chocolate Garden and want to come back when the cider mill nearby is open.
Stopped by here for our second time on a trip to Chicago for the weekend. We were the only folks there, so it really was great. Sorry, can't remember the person that was serving us, but she was great. Great wine selections for our tastings too. Well worth the stop. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the wines. Also stopped by the Chocolate Garden after our wine tasting and that was fun too.
