this place has a lovely outdoor area, with a garden, orchard grapes, and sits under the trees. My husband was here many years ago, but I never been here; so we stooped for a quick wine tasting. The wine was really nice, but the nicest was the guy who did all the explaining, he was funny and friendly. All the staff was great, also they have nice food, wood fired pizzas, spring rolls, etc. It has ping pong tables too. Very good prices too. Go stops there and unwind with a nice glass of wine and pizzas.
This is one of those places. Great wee spot, totally unique and very very kiwi.Rock up early, order some pizza, drink some wine or cider and generally hang out. Its popular, and the opening hours are a bit hazy, so we usually take the kids around 5pm before it gets too busy. Its simply good and good fun. Don't expect table clothes - come with an open mind and leave happy.
We gone there for few days and everything was brilliant the pizzas, the booze, the place, the helpers, thanks for the shavels, was really helpful in hot water beach, we will come back ASAP mate !!!!Thanks guys !!!
Great host, funny and facetious, generous tastings (as in very very generous), good food especially the squid, lovely lunch setting under the kiwifruit vines, and some very tasty cider and liqueurs. Well worth the visit, and will be back.
We found this wonderful place through a recommendation from two german backpackers. We needed a campground for the night and heard that it would be for free if we stopped for a drink. Before we could ask for the campground, we were "invited" to the wine cellar and tasted of every drink they produce there! Very exotic, good tasting stuff. Sweet as. After some drinking we build up our tent and returned for the night. We drank a lot of cider till midnight and had a wonderful time! The staff is very friendly and has a really nice attitude ;) (hope u are reading the reviews bro). If you are on the coromandel peninsula, just have a stop at this unique place!Sincerely Clemens - Germany
If you want to experience the coromandel, look no further. Enjoy cider in the sun for hours on end, nibble on the immaculately presented spring rolls - fried to perfection and laid out on a bed of lettuce fresh from the garden - and then move on up to a delicious wood fired pizza seasoned with herbs picked right in front of you by the warm and welcoming staff. An absolute must for anyone visiting the area and a fine selection of wines and liqueurs described with an oscar worthy performance from the hard case captain of this charmingly rustic wee establishment. Can't wait for my next trip to the coromandel to bring my friends and family to share in the enjoyment.
This place is worth a visit for sure. The pizzas are excellent and you can customise your own toppings to suit what you want. The Apple and feijoa cider is very tasty and they have a lot of liqueurs and some wine also. You can try all of this for free in the wine cellar. The staff are helpers from all over the world and they did a fantastic job catering for everyone. Particularly the Scottish girl behind the bar made our trip very enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Great pizza, feijoa cider was magic. The tasting room was a treat too, not just for the drink but the craic with Danny. Had an awesome time and will very likely return very soon. Sláinte!
I got a bit lost late at night looking for somewhere to eat and happened upon the Purangi Winery. It was ten minutes after kitchen closing but they were happy to make me a fresh pizza, with herbs picked fresh from the garden outside. They even brought me a sample glass of cider to try while I was waiting!Great pizza, lovely people.
We stopped in to taste some of their liqueurs and wines and loved the fiejoa cider so much that we ordered a jug. The garden area is a really lovely, shady spot to sit and drink. After awhile, we got hungry and ordered a pizza, which was also quite good. We're traveling by campervan and if you buy some food and drink, Danny will let you camp on the winery's land for a night. Danny took great care of us and this spot is a must-do for any Coromandel trip!
