Spent 2 nights at Mineral Palace with a busload (55 people) on a scenic trip. From the time we walked in the front door until we left EVERYONE treated us like royalty. The first night most everyone had pretty good luck gambling. The second night wasn't quite as good.If you play blackjack, look for Brandon.(Very nice young man).If you like Bloody Marys, look for John (The Awesome Aussie) he will fix you right up.We are already making plans for another trip to South Dakota for next year and we're hoping to spend 3 nights at Mineral Palace!!
Always win some in the Mineral Palace, one of the casinos on our go to list. So glad there is no more smoking in the casinos in Deadwood.
Gambled here a lot since we stayed at this motel. The staff was all great and very friendly. The slots were a little tight but they had a little of everything and the establishment was very clean.
I normally don't bother writing negative reviews, I'm of the "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all", but I was so underwhelmed by the staff at this Casino I had to write something. I found most of staff completely uninterested in the patrons, but my experience with the front desk is what prompted me to write this. First there doesn't seem to be any parking for non-hotel guests, so you have to park at the metered parking on the street. I only had 2 quarters and needed 4 to get me through until 8 when the meters were not required. When I approached the front desk, I was told that if this was for gambling they couldn't help me, but if not they could give me change.. really? When I told her it was for parking, she directed to me another guy at the desk. Well, you'd think I asked for his first born as he showed the most disgusted demeanor I have experienced from a front desk person. There are so many casinos in the area, the only advantage any can offer is customer service, I will definitely take my business elsewhere if back in Deadwood.
Won - Liked Didn;t stay long enough to dislike. (by losing) Check out some of the old artifacts from days of old.
I thought this place was pretty cool. When in Deadwood, I think it's important to realize that it's not Vegas. The casinos, although plentiful, are very small in comparison to others around the country. This isn't the largest casino in town but one of the larger ones on Deadwood's main street. We didn't stay here but spent some time here each day gambling. One of the only casinos in the off season that offers card tables around the clock. The staff was mostly friendly and drink service was quick.
This is one of the larger casinos in town and always one of our favorite stops, either for a drink at the bar or just to play a little on the slots.
We often stay here when we go to Deadwood. Rooms are nice, and the price is much better than most of the other places, particularly the ones in town. Get a room here, then go walk up to the Deadwood Mountain Grand where the real party is. The savings is definitely worth the 5 minute walk.
We love the Mineral Palace Casino but they were short dealers and were unable to have more than one table open several of the evenings we were in town.
We were in DEADWOOD for a couple of days during an RV TRIP. We stopped off at a couple of bars and went here really just to have a look. We ended up staying the whole evening! The barman John was a riot! Extremely funny and friendly and made the best drinks. Some I'd never heard of before ( not sure if he had either!) it's rare to find such a great barman and his stories were hilarious.Shame we were leaving the next day or we would have gone back for sure.Ray and Katrina UK
