This course has a great layout. I first played there in 2001. It has held its beauty and "shape" since then. If you go to GRapids, you should play here. A great place with GPS on the carts. The price is also right.
You see and hear a lot of traffic while playing this course. It is a very nice course, I have played it 3 times and enjoyed it each time.
This is one of the better courses in Grand Rapids. Beautiful clubhouse, expansive greens, rolling terrain, challenging but not ridiculous course difficulty, GPS in golf carts. The only negatives to this course is that its a bit pricey, and seems to packed with leagues on weekdays.
This course is a great find in Grand Rapids. It is not easy, especially from the tips, but it is fair and not tricked up. It makes you think about club selection and rewards good shots. It is also a pretty course with nice views of the river. The airport is nearby, it is near the highway (I96) and there are train tracks but none of that was an issue. It actually added to the charm. I will definitely return!
Thornapple Pointe is a beautiful golf course. We were there in the fall as the leaves were beginning to turn and the views were stunning. The holes are challenging but playable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's definitely a course we'd like to play again.
This place is so well designed and maintained. It's a great place for charity and social events.. There's a outside deck for the 19th hole. It is unique in its design between a highway and train track and the airport is very near
Overall this course is pretty nice, except for the plains, trains, boats, cars that you can hear occasionally. Another nice but bad feature is the carts that tell you exact yardage to bunkers , front / back of green, etc.. The bad part is that the dang carts make you stay on the path most of the time because it senses when you don't, ,which leads to an annoying reverse to get back to the good area for driving.
Planes, cars, boats & trains are all part of experiencing this marvelous golf challenge. Set in beautiful Kent County by the Grand River, this course challenges all skill levels and rewards with a beautiful course and terrific setting.
Carts.. Professional Links and Resturant.. One of the best all round golfing experiences in the City .. Worth the added experences.
This is my favorite course I've ever been too. I haven't been to very many super nice courses, but this one was well worth the price. First off, the course is very well kept. It's a course laid out along the thornapple river along the backside of the course. The river doesn't give you too much of a challenge, but it is really beautiful. The course was just easy enough, a golfer with around a 20 hcp would be pleased, but also would have challenge, and still be worth it. The carts they have are awesome. They have touchpad screens in them showing you where on the hole you are and gives you distances from the tee, to the hole, and to many hazards. Definitely someplace I will visit again.
