Salt Creek Beach is beautiful, it has a nice burger shack, and the sand stretches out for a bit under the water. For many of those reasons, the surfers love it too, so there are parts of the beach - not all - where swimmers should not dare. Not he other hand, they can be fun to watch!
This is a wonderful long stretch of very clean California beach surrounded by all that is wonderful in Dana Point. Great walking and swimming, as well as surfing.
This beach was outstanding. Great views and wonderful waves. Plenty of room to set up shop and play in the ocean. Make sure to go to either side by the rocks. The tide pools had many wild life in them.
This is a great beach for the entire family in a beautiful part of Orange County. There are designated sections for both surfing and boogie boarding/swimming with lifeguard stations during the summer and bathrooms. If you get hungry, there is a snack shack with a great variety of food, and delicious smoothies. The beautiful Ritz Carlton Hotel overlooks this beach. Our family likes to take walks on this beach throughout the year and ride our bikes down to this beach on the trails. As you walk the beach past the Ritz Carlton you can "touch the point of Dana Point" which is the large rock/cliff formation at the one end of the beach. You can see the tiny "sea creatures" along this area. It is never a dull day at this beach, always beautiful and always fun. There is also a grassy hill area where people like to have picnics and watch the awesome sunsets. It reminds me why I live in California!
This beach is great for walks. There are a lot of surfers to watch. It's pretty low key. The beach is clean and the ocean beautiful.
This beach has got to be one of the top ten most beautiful beaches in the world. This place in my opinion is the definition of "California dreaming" and what California beach life is. The views from this place are postcard perfect. Lots of people surfing, playing volleyball and just tanning at this place. I loved it.
My favorite beach by far! Really clean, parking was a challenge, but its worth it. I got a lot of great photos here.
The waves for surfing and boogie boarding were excellent. The beach get's quite crowded so get there early. It is also a nice beach for running.
Lowtide is perfect for walking this beach. Nice green park area as well. Dodge the seagulls though as there is a ton of them.
Salt Creek Beach is a primo place for body surfing. It's also pretty darn dramatic, with soaring cliffs looming over the crescent bay with its thundering surf.
