We stopped by Stone Cliff Winery. Beautiful building, excellent wine and friendly staff. There is outside seating as well and we will try that when it warms up!!
Stone Cliff Winery is in a great old building. Great displays before you get to the tasting room. Very relaxing place to sit and have a glass of wine. Interesting lunch food and appetizers. Wine is nice.
Stopped in here for lunch on a whim and loved it! Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was great! I had the ham and turkey panini w/ roasted pepper mayo and cheddar cheese and my wife had the turkey panini w/ bacon and cranberry herb mayo, both were super delicous and fresh. I recommend getting an extra side of cucumber salad, it was really tasty and refreshing on a hot day! Very modestly priced for the quality. Great view of the River! Definitely will be heading back soon. Best lunch i've had in a long time.
We held our wedding reception at Stone Cliff Winery this past September, and could not have asked for a better experience! Jodi was so incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, and made sure everything went smoothly. This is a gorgeous space with tons of great character, and the fact that Stone Cliff grew the grapes and created the wines for our wedding made the whole experience absolutely amazing! Jodi and the other ladies taking care of everything were just spectacular - they made our wedding beautiful, special and totally stress-free. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much, Stone Cliff Winery!!!
We went to the Stone Creek Winery because of the Grand Harbor Resort package. With the package from the hotel, we were given a bottle of wine if we paid for 2 wine tastings. It is located in the old historic Star Brewery building. There is a very unique sculpture next to the retaurant/wine tasting area. It is a life size sculpture of a ballerina, made out of ballerina slippers. My husband & I each tried 5 different wines. We enjoyed all of them especially the Cranberry wine. It was a fun time and a very good deal!
Came here because they advertised live music late afternoon/early evening on a Sunday. First of all nobody was drinking wine. Pretty much everybody was drinking beer. There were four in our party and three ordered beer. I, the rebel, ordered their cider. They make it right there! It was really really good! I gave tastes around the table and everyone agreed. They had freshly popped popcorn that you could help yourself to which was a nice touch. They had live music, as advertised. The guitarist was really fun and had everyone singing along. Though the atmosphere wasn't right, the liveliness and spirit of the patrons reminded me a pub in Ireland. Great fun was had by all!
My husband and I stopped for drinks, assuming that the building was a brewery. Imagine our surprise when we learned that it had not been a brewery for years!! Luckily, we passed through a large wedding party and found Stone Cliff Winery. The wine was decent. The patio was pretty. The staff was fantastic!
I generally do not care for fruity sweet wines, but some of the wines here were pleasant and refreshing. The riesling was quite nice for a summer refreshment. There are some nice simple foods to order to enjoy with the wine or beers. Pizza was ok , but enjoyed the cheese( simple but efficient) tray more. $5 for 5 samples.
This was our first stop in Dubuque after the Welcome Center and it gave us a great first impression. We stopped in for lunch and our waitress (I'm really sorry I didn't get her name) was outstanding. She was trying to handle the lunch crowd as well as tend the bar. It took us a little while to get our food, but we weren't in a hurry and the paninnis that we ordered were excellent. We also wanted to do the wine tasting, but chose to walk along the River Walk first and come back when it was less busy. The waitress welcomed us back and was extremely helpful for both of us when telling us about the wines. I would strongly recommend this for both the food and the great wines.
This place was small, but very nice. The food and wine was very good. If you are interested in beer, they have a nice display of beer related things. The patio area was very nice, facing the river.
