The beach is one long stretch, you can walk for such a long distance without realizing it. Not so crowded particularly on weekdays. Went for a swim, that was awesome. The sand is better (?) on the parts facing the hotels. Watch out for the beach boys, don't take their word for anything. There's a guy offering camel rides, should be less than three US dollars (Kshs. 200) per person. You can negotiate if two people ride one camel to Kshs. 300. There are all sorts of activities: sailing, kite surfing, glass-bottom boats, there are diving and snorkeling tours. Even saw a bunch of freshly-caught octopuses (eew) All in all, a great beach.
Diani Beach is a magnificent stretch of white sand that evokes a sense of paradise and entices any traveler to take long walks in the not-too-hot early morning hours or late afternoon as the sun sets. When the tide goes out, you can walk for hundreds of meters in the shallow, crystal clear water to enjoy the urchins, coral and seashells and other teaming life! The only tiny drawback as a white, female tourist traveling solo was feeling a bit harrassed by the locals trying to sell their wares or activites. I found by offering up a nice smile and saying hello "jambo" and a wave as I walked on, was good enough to let them know when I wanted to just enjoy the beach on my own.
Miles white coral sand just beautiful warm water and not a lot of tourists. You get the locals but no problems just walk and talk.
Miles of white talcum powder sand. As you get to the end you come on to Galu beach where it's even better. With the absence of tourists its a good time to go to this area. We've stayed many times on Galu beach over the last 15 yrs
Pristine white sands with tour quite blue waters and a coral reef which stops sharks and other large fish coming inland to the shore. Swaying Palm Trees and Bougainville flowers set the scene.
One of the place i love to be. Blue sea white powder like sand and millions of colours. Best place to recharge your battery!
I love a place that has palm trees and mango trees hanging over the sand for shade. The water is crystal clear...until its bright blue. The sand is like sugar. The water can be shallow at first then, drop off deeply. Be careful of sea urchins, if you're barefoot. I prefer the parts of the beach that aren't next to resorts...but, if you want to walk down to one, they'll be sure to order you up a nice cold passion fruit juice if you'd like!
The best place ever we came and fell in love with it .we will forever have cherished memories of this paradise on the kenyan coast with white sandy beach
Very few people on this beautiful beach, many opportunities for skydiving, snorkelling, scuba diving etc. White sand and clear shallow water, very picturesque
The ocean is so clean and worm. Never want to go back home. Many kilometers white sands. Good beach bars for a cup of cofe or juice. The most delicious mangoes in the world.
