Thanks Steve, we are so glad you had a memorable day. So sorry about the Mombasa traffic and I know it was really hot. May we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Great New Year! Valerie
Wading into the boat, watching many people board the dhow was very interesting. There were those who were more afraid of water than I but we all had lots of fun. Refreshments came in handy as the sun was really hot. After snorkeling we had lunch at the Island, lots of crabs and Swahili dishes. The coconut sauce was scrumptious. As we enjoyed the trip back those in charge of the dhow sung sweet songs in many languages and this made us very happy.
A friend and I did the Fun Dive which is designed for people who have never scuba dived before. We spent an hour on the Dhow going to the first site. The seas were fairly rough and many of us felt sea sick by the end, but once we stopped I felt better quickly. The snorkeling was fun and there were many guides with our group pointing out octopus and eels. The dive (which I'd never done before) was AMAZING! The instructor was patient but allowed us to explore on our own once we felt comfortable. Lunch, on an island, was absolutely fabulous. The only unfortunate thing is that business is bad and the owner is hoping to sell and move to Tanzania. Don't let this happen!
Wildlife on the reef was spectacular. Staff was smiling and helpful. Really good lunch by a beautiful pool. The day was perfect.
Thank you Elizabeth, I am so glad you enjoyed the day. That's what we strive for, a client who goes home with good memories of Kenya. Selina & Harm Lutjeboer
This is a worthwhile trip doing whether with friends or family or even alone (as you get to meet other people on board). The service is wonderful, the guides are super friendly and supportive. A member of our group was not a strong swimmer and there was someone there to help her along the whole way so that she felt confident enough to go snorkelling too. Equipment is great, the lunch served to you afterwards is absolutely delicious with crab, fish and all sorts of Swahilli delights - all around a wonderful experience. The only thing I would say is that if you are a seasoned diver/ snorkeler don't get too excited about the reef (although it's still worth doing). Another tip is that the ocean is extremely choppy so if you get sea sick watch out (although again, the staff are very supportive on this issue and kind!). Seeing the dolphins was super exciting! Would recommend this trip for sure!
Thanks Steph, we are always delighted to hear that somebody has enjoyed the day with us and keeps coming back. it's people like you who give us the encouragement to try harder. Selina and Harm
We are glad you enjoyed your day with us Jodi, we do strive hard to please. It would be good if you could tell friends and compatriots that Kenya is safe, after all we live here in this beautiful country.
This day is so worth it! Set out on a boat trip and with some luck wild dolphins will come up to the boat and swim along side. Get yur snorkeling gear on and start swimming. Most beautiful coral reef in crystal clear water, see little rays digging in and if you dive down to them they will shoot off. Beautiful tropical fish, the water is very comfortable temperature. There will always be several guides, my and my mum are excellent swimmers so we were ahead of the group with our guide. We were extremely tired at the end of the afternoon but never seen anything like it in my life! Get back on the boat and off you go to an island with it seems just a restaurant.. You'll get great food and the entire day you're well looked after.
Thanks, it's good to know that we are appreciated. We are so glad you had a good experience .We have had brilliant weather lately and so many happy clients, quite a few swimming with dolphins, but unfortunately none of them wrote to Trip Advisor to say so! Not many people in the park these days so there is more chance of seeing dolphins and turtles.
