We visited the theater on Nov 16th to see Dustbowl Revival Band. The tickets were very reasonable, the house was packed and the entertainment was rockin' good. Everyone had a terrific evening, and the dance floor was packed! Drawbacks are that the seating is first-come, first served. It was not easy to securet a table for four. Although the tickets were inexpensive, the drinks were not. We paid $19.00 for three drinks, and although this seemed like alot, it would not discourage us from returning.
We decided to attend the drama at the last minute. What fun we had getting to ahhh, boo, hiss, with the audience. Lots of laughter was part of our evening.
We didn't go to the theater but we went to the Diamond Belle Saloon. There is live music at night and the musician was great! Funny, kept everyone laughing! Great song list perfect for singing along! The drinks are a little pricey but they are made from scratch and the bartender sure knows what he's doing! The waitresses wear a dance hall costume, very touristy and fun!
We purchased the dinner and show package. Show was funny, corny and light hearted. Ran a little long however- over 2 hrs.
Great show from a talented group of actors. Funny from start to finish. The best evening we've had since we arrived in colorado. This is a show you have to see if you're visiting durango.
A good old fashion type of fun. The cast is great with a lot of inner actting with the audience. If you go get the dinner package. One of the best steaks I`ve had.
Brilliant. We saw The Rocky Horror Show and it was just great. Everybody were singing along and most people were dresses up.
I have been coming to Durango for 40 years and each time I come to a melodrama at The Strater Hotel. It is always a wholesomee, fun, great evening for all. It is sure something to see and experience at least once.
We had the dinner and show. Dinner was very good value for the money although I prefer the regular restaurat menu. the vaudeville type show definately had it's humerous and sometimes slapstick moments. The actors were well versed in their parts and seemed to enjoy their time on stage. The cost for supper and the show for two was $88.40 which is about the most reasonable cost for a night of entertainment that one could ask for.
Seating was a bit cramped and tables are small but we had a decent view of the stage and the show turned out to be pretty good. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling well and that probably took a little away from my visit but I think the show is worth a visit. Actors did a good job.
